It hasn't been that long since I was promoted to Apprentice. I was just in my account area to change my e-mail address and noticed the change. If it wasn't for that I would have had no idea.

Na...  I just hoped that your silence didn't mean that you didn't know. 

It is a good thing, I think, that a community can see the progress it's members are making.  I really enjoy seeing people rise through the ranks and I know it is a bright spot for a lot of people when they see their cohorts get ahead.  It adds to the sense of community, I think, when people have milestones and some history that is shared.  People grow through the community at all sorts of paces (some even grow backwards at times) so it really isn't a comparative thing.  Enjoy what you accomplish and know that as other people make it they will be free to enjoy the same thing.

I think  you just kind of sprouted one day, ID, and took off growing.  I think I noticed you first back when you did something kind of altruistic for the community.  After that your comments kept sprouting  up here and there showing the same kind of good sense.  Someone else beat me to the recommendation though.
