Way to go Island Dog!
As someone who paid for Opera, I would HIGHLY recommend those who like Firefox or Maxthon to take advantage of the offer.

I swear I looked the forums over for this, and posted another thread, I must have a blind spot...
ahh..well, good to see someone else is paying attention and gets up earlier than me.

Hey Hey - GREAT POST. I've used Opera in the past - FREE VERSION - but I couldn't put up with the ads. If I had more money I'd have bought it (Couldn't spend money on Stardock stuff)(No, I'm not kissing Butt - I'm still waiting for a hassle free Icon Packager) I digress - Opera is a great browser! I'm not gonna set it up as my default quite yet. Firefox is my default. We'll see....

I have been reading forums all day about this and I have to say the feedback about Opera has been mostly great.

It more complicated
but it skins better with WB than FF does

It more complicated

It's more customizable.
On the website they've got setups (toolbars, panels, buttons etc.) that other people have already put together you can download and try out. When I first started using it I had to try a few to get an idea of what I wanted to do for myself. Now I only use Explorer for Microsoft updates and downloads.

Pretty kewl- how long does the license last? The only answer I've seen was Sir B's & he wasn't on the Opera site.

I love this browser!

How bad are the ads for an unpaid user?

It was supposed to end last night, but the links are still working.

The license is a regular license are far as I can tell. I'm not sure if it will be good for upgrades though.

There is a banner ad in the upper right hand of the browser.

The links still work but the free license offer has seemingly expired. I just checked again to see if it was worth informing my sister.

I was lucky to have got it earlier and have been playing with it for a few hours now, and yeah, it is impressive and beats other browsers hands down with its highly skinnable interface and functionality. Very nice indeed

Correction to my last post....my sister just got back to me saying the license offer is still running and she now has it. Don't know why I was taken to an alternative page before but the link is okay now, so be quick for those still interested
