ObjectDock Plus No Longer Loads

Tries to load, but dies.

Today I was dragging a URL shortcut to a dock and my screen stopped updating, with pieces of windows everywhere. So I START/shutdown my computer and restarted. Now ObjectDock will not load. Has always worked like a champ. I figure the drag-n-drop must have mangled something, but I can't figure out what. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, restored, ignored... everything I can think of to no avail.

How can I "reset" ObjectDock or do you have a better way to get OD working again?

Thanks in advance,

Your theme may be cached as it is, including the problem.

Shift+Ctrl+Esc to invoke Task Manager > look in processes for ObjectDock.exe to see if it is somehow running in the background.

If it is, right-click it and select "End Process" to kill it > clear the ObjectDock cache by deleting the ObjectDock folder found in "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Setting\Application Data\Stardock" folder.

For more on clearing the cache, you can read my mini tutorial here Link

Hopefully this will allow ObjectDock to successfully load again.

If the program does not load again after clearing the cache, make sure the cache is cleared > uninstall ObjectDock > reboot > delete the ObjectDock folder in "C:\Program Files\Stardock" folder > reinstall ObjectDock > test for functionality.

Note - I recommend restoring Windows to the default theme before performing any Uninstall/Install procedures.

I hope this helps.

THANK YOU CORKY! Great tutorial. Dumping the cache did the trick.
