System Failure

Windows XP and Longhorn BETA Crash

Im not completely sure why, but I havent found anyone else having this problem. I change the bootscreen for XP and Longhorn. I restart my computer. The bootscreen I selected is displayed, for a somewhat lengthy period, then the system crashes and restarts again, and asks if I want to start normally, or in safe mode. I tried loading Longhorn in AI mode, but the booting with the skin I selected still does not let Windows boot properly. Any tips on how to fix this?

I am not sure what you mean with "I change the Bootscreen for XP and Longhorn". Do you have a double boot system with the Vista-Beta and XP? Does this error happen with all Bootscreens of just a particular skin? If the latter is the case I would just use a different skin and delete the faulty skin.

Bootskin is not compatible with all BIOS'es out there. I would recommend to boot into XP using safe-mode. Then fire up Bootskin and apply the default Bootscreen. Uninstall Bootskin and reboot.

There are more versions of Bootskin available on the Stardock Bootskin website https://www.stardock.com/products/bootskin/
If none of them works you are out of luck and might not be able to run Bootskin at all.
