Get DesktopX Pro for only $29.95

Limited time offer for Object Desktop users

DesktopGadgets.com is nearly ready to launch.  Gadgets have been discussed quite a bit around here.  The only program currently available that allows you to create gadgets is DesktopX Pro.  Gadgets are like widgets except that they are true stand alone programs.  You can send them to anyone running Windows 2000, XP, or Windows Vista (and in many cases Windows 98/ME) and they'll run.  With DesktopX Pro, users have the option of taking their widgets and exporting them as gadgets.

But one need not be a software developer to enjoy gadgets.  For example, last night I took some pictures my mother had sent me and quickly turned them into gadgets that I could send back to her.  Now she has pictures of her grandchildren sitting on her desktop (not as a wallpaper but as a gadget that she can move around the screen).  One of our IT guys whipped up a quickie gadget to have it run a batch file when a certain number of bad email messages are in the bad email queue (to keep disk space from running out on that server).  It's a lot easier to make gadgets than it is to create traditional stand-alone programs.

For a very limited time only (next 20 days or so) Stardock is offering a $40 discount on DesktopX Pro to Object Desktop users.  So instead of it costing $69.95 it only costs $29.95.  But this is only for a limited time.

If you have Object Desktop, GO HERE TO GET IT

Not to minimize the value of the offer to non-Dx owners.

But just so the question gets asked.

Is there anything on offer in the way of a reduction to those who have already bought a DesktopX licence and would like to upgrade to Dx Pro ?

Sounds interesting, is this an annual fee for DesktopX Pro or is it a one off like Cursor XP?

Thanks

This is not an official statement, but I would imagine that if you buy it, you'd get all 3.x versions, as standard for Stardock separately-registered products. After that, you might have to upgrade (probably available for a reduced fee) if you want access to 4.x features.

Thanks for the info, but I would like an "official" statement.

I would like to purchase Pro with this offer, but I see a coupon disclaimer that states no orders under 70 dollars. Is this true?

I bought it as well, too good an offer to pass up. Might even whip up a new gadget or two.

Island Dog, your official statement:

Stardock doesn't charge for updates and new versions within the same major version number. So if you bought (say) WindowBlinds 4.0, you would receive all released versions (4.1, 4.2, etc.). When the time comes for a new major version, like 5.0, there would be an upgrade path at a reduced rate.

Whatever folder I selected to install in, it added an "\IconX" on the end of it. Did it insist on installing into an IconX folder for anyone else?
