Collector's Item

What do YOU collect?

Cleaning up this garbage dump I call 'garage' I came across my collection of comic books (which I've been collecting since the mid 70s) and has titles such as Spiderman, The Avengers, Ghost Rider, The Hulk, Ironman, Daredevil, Thor, X-Men, Spawn, Superman, Batman, Silver Surfer, Fantastic Four and a few others. I also have a collection of baseball cards and a small collection of coins.
Does anyone else share this type of hobby? And if you do....what do you collect?

Jafo, I actually have a few Magnus comics, but I got them because they are either tie-ins or cross-over stories with other comics. I never got too 'hyped' on Magnus, mainly because it wasn’t so popular with Dark Horse and when it resurrected in Valiant I was on my way out of the collecting run. However, I do have the first 3 issues of the Valiant series. They are worth between $90-$120 USD each. I guess that was a good investment.

At one time I was a huge Marvel collector, back in the day of the first Alpha Flight and the death of Guardian. The only non Marvel that I collected was the Ronin graphic novel and other similar releases. DD, X-men, Elektra, Moon Knight, Spidey, Iron Man, New Mutants, and Alpha Flight were my favs. I think at one time I was collecting 22 titles each month. Believe it or not, I traded them all in to pay my rent at one point so now I am comicless. I am glad there are some good Hollywood movies of some of my favorite characters. Bullseye was very well portrayed. I think Jennifer Garner was the wrong choice for my honey, Elektra. Spidey was great as were the two X-Men movies. DD was good. Never liked Hulk much so did not see the movie. All time favorite character? Gotta be Wolvie. "snikt"

A_67...I have them all...if you count the reprints...but for the originals I'm missing #1 and #6 in particular.....from memory they were 1965 or there abouts...Gold Key comics...
Ah, then it dates before Dark Horse comics. Gold Key is from the silver age comics, right around the early 60s.
GK had Magnus, Korak, The Phantom.... they even had Lost In Space. I wasnt born yet, but I remember when I was around 10 yrs old my uncle had a collection with some of those books.
Jafo, you might want to do a quick search on eBay. I just saw a few copies of #1(F) & #6(9.0 VF)

I collect guitars. Just can't give 'em up! I've never sold a guitar I've ever owned.

A67 ..are you talking about "Magnus, Robot Fighter"? Ah yes, Lost In Space, too bad the technology at the time wouldn't allow the TV series to follow the comic storyline. Was one of my favs

Me being as young as I am, I missed out in the 70's for collectiong things. But I love to collect retro video-games, heck they're good! Right now my favriote collection pieces are:

1. Final Fantasy IV (I have 1-10, and this has to be the best by FAR, well...5 and 6 come close)
2. Megaman X 1-4 (meh, they wern't so good after 4)
3. Demon's Crest
4. Super Mario RPG (now THAT was a mario-game!)
5. Chrono Trigger (I had to buy it from a man in Austria >_
6. Axelay (can't go wrong with that!)
Ah how I love my SNES, got it in 1991 and it still works just like it was bought yesterday! My Satelliteaview, Virtual Boy, and original Gameboy I also love. Though for Satelliteaview I only have Radical Dreamers (and only 4 games were ever made for that system anyway).
As far as NES games go I don't have too many (Kid Icarus, Balloon Fight...and that's about it, though I have 54 SNES games, but only 1-6 are really worth mentioning. Oh, lastly my Super Famicom, though I just have that Tenchi Muyo game for it (and I have no idea what's being said as I never learned Japanese)).
I'll always keep collecting what I can find, you just can't beat the old days of the early 90's...some good stuff in that time!

Well...ok I was a teenager in the 90's but that's still "old" territory for me

I collect diecast cars. I LOVE DIECAST CARS!!! I just started with them about a few months ago.

I also like collecting specific magazines, specific video games that have racing in them or cars as part of the action in general (for example Batman is a car buff dream) and I like shoes.

I haven't started collecting shoes as of yet (no space) but I do have a pair of cross trainers from Nike, Air Jordan 14 (like brand new!!!!), Adidas Stan Smith, a pair of Rockfords, Italian Leather shoes (also from NIKE as part of a special Jordan shoe) and a Nike Shox sneaker.

When I was about 5 or so I had 'all' the Matchbox cars....they were about 2 shillings each...and I'd get one every week.....back in the days of the blue and yellow boxes....

If I had them all now I could retire....
