REQ; Weather Widget like WeatherBug

and/or WeatherPanel

I'd like to formaly request a widget to replace my adware laiden WeatherBug. Here's what I'd like it to do.

1. Display icons and temps for next few days. (Currently most do this)

2. Either have a tabbed display or click on each day to get a detailed forecast.

3. Tabbed display or button to click to get radar/sat images. I'd also like to be able to use my own radar/sat links.

4. And maybe have a another button to open the browser to the weather page of your choice, like accuweather, weather.com, etc.

I think WeatherPanel by MarsWare for the Pocket PC does a very could job, I'd like to see something like it for DesktopX. http://www.marsware.net/WeatherPanel/main.htm

Thanks. I'd like to help all I can, but I'm not a programmer or coder.

Saw your post on the newsgroup. The Natural Desktop does some of what you want, and the next version will do more, although it does not completely fulfil your requirements. I'd suggest you watch for that and see if it's something that would be worth your purchase.

Interesting. That looks pretty cool. Thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye on it. When is the next version due?
How hard is it to make your own widget? I've glanced over the tutorial editing one widget for your personal changes, but so far I don't think I've found anything close to what I'd like.

For those that missed my Newsgroup post, I also referenced MarsWare's WeatherPanel for the Pocket PC. You should check it out. http://marsware.net/WeatherPanel/main.htm

BTW where is the 'better' place or the more visited place, here or the newsgroup?

The simpler the widget, the easier. Me no can do weather. don't know scripting.

don't know. I lost my news reader. either that or Office Outlook 2003 didn't have one and i'm thinking of O.Expr.

Hotrod, there's an updated version of Natural Desktop available now... I haven't downloaded as yet to inform of any additional features to those I have, but it does have alot of what you're looking for

IMO, WeatherBug's best feature is placing your temperature in the systray. AFAIK, no widget can do that. The desktop displays are cool, but most of the time my desktop is at least partially covered, if not completely.
