Serious OVERLAY problems - Please Advise

Since installing DesktopX 3.0 Pro, I'm experiencing serious overlay problems. The two major:
1) No video (black screen) in Power DVD 6 when playing mpg's.
2) No video in preview window in Pinnacle Studio 8.12.7
Once I unload DesktopX, everything works fine. I cannot cope with unloading and reloading DesktopX 20 times per day. Any advice please?
