Loosing Start bar

I installed objectBar to try out on my win2000 laptop. I noticed that when I did not have it running when I would maximize a window it would cover up my start bar. If I started obectBar the problem would stop. I have since uninstalled the software and now whenever I maximize I loose the start bar again. I have made sure that auto hide start bar option is turned off. I figure there is a reg edit need to fix this problem?

do you have keep task bar on top of other windows checked?
