WinCustomize Site issues

Working through them

For the past couple of weeks we've had a number of website issues that we've been working through.

The first issue has to do with DNS.  The Secondary DNS server for this site was no longer up due to Stardock's move (Stardock was hosting the secondary DNS server for WinCustomize.com).  This has been corrected with Network solutions but it will take some time (a few days) for this change to propagate out onto the net.  This would cause extreme slowness of loading of pages, missing images, etc.

The second issue has to do wit a database bug that we're still in the final stages of tracking down.  This would cause "server too busy" errors and just crash the website entirely. We are trying to work through that as well and hope to have it clear soon.

Hopefully by this weekend things will have cleared up considerably.

We will be turning the libraries off for about 30-60 minutes while we do some additional testing.  Look for the libraries to return shortly.  Sorry for the incovenience.

I am seeing even more than double ... they are being repeated once, twice, even thrice ...

Those bugs really make the life poor

Same here. I can get to my personal pages and the forum. I can also get to individual skins in the gallery through their picture or link on the home page. Period! Smile!

Hello everyone!

Sorry for the site issues. We're having a good old time tracking down these little bugs. Sorry about the Gallery/library errors. Some files managed to not get completely copied over or where corrupted... not sure exactly what happened. Anyway, it should be okay now. If you encounter major errors message, please keep posting on this channel. Special thanks to clwoods & Fairyy~ for pointing out such a bug error. I never would have seen it, if you hadn't posted! And thanks to everyone else for all of your patience. We really appreciate the support.

OK then, its 1450 BST on July 17, 2005 and on my laptop - which I use as my main PC these days - and on the desktop PC I'm getting the following:

Server Error in '/' Application.
File or assembly name zhdp21ll, or one of its dependencies, was not found.

plus a load of other code similar to an earlier post in this thread.

The desktop and laptop PCs are maintained independently from each other to preserve integrity in the event of catastrophe so its unlikely to be something knowingly deleted or introduced at this end. That's not to say it can't happen.

Please tell me its something at your end before I do something inconvenient, but possible if neccessary, like a full restore from the latest backup.

Thanks in advance.

I see the site is still having some problems. It would be nice if you could send all registed users of your software an email saying all is well. Good luck with correcting your problems. We all know what is like to be in Microsoft hell.

David,
It is not a problem with any of your computers as far as I can see. It is a problem with their website.
Thanks
Dan
