sorry doc I disagree, thta's as crazy as me going to the Egyptian Government and demanding money for when my poeple were slaves.

I didn't enslave anyone, hence, I refuse to pay anyone because their Grandfather was a slave. GET OVER IT ALREADY. It was so long ago, and I would be willing to say that blacks have more rights than most other races now.

They can have an EBONY magazine and BET. Can you imagine the lawsuits if I started a WET (white entertainment television) program or an IVORY magazine?

The NAACP doesn't speak for me or my family or my friends (the black ones). I wish they would find better things to do like listening to Bill Cosby and actually make a difference in someone's life. Back in the day the work they did meant something and they actually did some good, now it's just dragging it's people down. I am sure the nuts will somehow make any failure of reparations become bUSHES faullt, and by proxy every republican.

They had their national convention in Milwaukee. Usually, when there is a convention in town you see conventioners all over the area. WIth this convention the local businesses were left wondering when it was going to start. The businesses owned by (and catering to) the Black population even wondered what was up. It turns out that the NAACP brought in their own caterers, disc jockeys...etc. So, while the NAACP uses the selling point of increased business and bringing money into the host city of their convention, they go to great lengths to make sure not "one thin dime" actually escapes their greedy little fingers.

They know that reparations is a losing battle. They also know that the average Black person in America will never see "one thin dime" of reparations. However, they are raking in the bucks by making sure as many Black people as possible remain bitter about slavery.

The way my friend T (who's black as the ace of spades) explained it to me was this: a lot of black folks have it in their heads that had the white man not taken away at least one generation's ability to provide for their family and had they thought out the transition from slavery to freedom....well, black folks wouldn't be in the predicament they're in now...and that's the message the NAACP et al are making sure black folks are hearing and teaching their kids. They NEED to blame someone for the state they're in, and whitey is the easiest person to blame.
They think that if reparations were made, po' folks could get themselves a better life and then everything would be hunkey dorey.

What they fail to see is that whitey has made reparations already in the form of affirmitive action and other programs designed to give minorities an advantage, and that they have no-one but themselves to blame for the state they're in right now.

The day that taxes are used for reparations is the day that I'm turning in my passport and learning the words to 'oh canada'. I love the USA but....I won't be a part of that.

And don't leave out us Mormons. The state of Missouri passed what was called, "The Mormon Extermination Act" making it not only legal to kill a Mormon, but considered a patriotic act. truth, I just heard that the NAACP is using the "reparations" we have to the japanese because of the horrendous act of internment during WW2, the japanese were citizens that were jailed, had all property taken away, all buisnesses taken, although I do sympathise{sp?} with the blacks that were slaves, there offspring have had every oppertunity to rise above it and some have not taken advantage of it.

No, they haven't - because taking advantage of it would mean that they'd have to make some kind of effort and as we all know, they shouldn't have to do that. Everything should be handed to them on a platter and they shouldn't have to lift a finger for any of it. After all, their great great great grandparents were enslaved and did enough work for the next 5 generations.

I like anyone else do not want to pay either. Instead of trying to get "reparations" the NAACP should help their people by stop looking themselves as "victims". Plus they need to help by promoting education as a good thing. In most inner cities, kids who are smart or kids who try to go to school to actuallly learn and get an education are looked down on and are often referred to as "sellouts". That's the kind of attitude the NAACP should try to banish.

The people who want to sit back do nothing and expect handouts hate the people who want to better themselves. They call them "wannabes" as in want to be white. Which is the most ridiculous logic if you think about it. They actually believe that education and hard work that leads to success is exclusive to the white population. But it all stems of years of being taught to remain a "victim". Of course, most "victims" will read this and probably just use the "he hates blacks" argument. Again making themselves the "victim". I'm not going to deny there's racism in the United States because it's alive and well and kicking. But don't use that as a crutch to keep you down forever because I'm telling you racism isn't going away anytime soon.

I remember watching a Chris Rock concert and he said though it was tough to be black in America he still loved it here because you can still succeed if you really want to. He also said if you think black people really got it bad to just look at the Native Americans. Then he asked the audience, "When was the last time you saw two Native Americans out chilling? When is the last time you saw a Native American family out eating like at Red Lobster?" He said Native Americans got it way worse than blacks so quit your complaining and chase your dream. Any dream. Just don't let you being black stop you. I thought it was a great message hidden in a comedy routine.

So I'm telling you, NAACP, quit asking for "reparations". Do you really think money is going to make their lives better? If you really truly care make your people know that being black doesn't mean you're a "victim" in this world. And if you really want money instead, then be like the Native Americans and open some casinos.
