Pink Floyd at Live 8

Old guys can still rock

You couldn't tell it had been years since they'd played a live gig together. Theirs was the only entire set that was carried live to my knowledge.

The Who sounded damn good as well.

They don't make music like that anymore.

A Floyd reunion tour would be one show I'd be willing to pay big bucks to see.

It's been a long time but the one time I saw them play live was by far the best show I ever saw.

Missed the "Dark Side Of The Moon" tour.

Saw them on the "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" tour when they hit Seattle (unfortunately without Waters), but they were still outstanding.

Truly professionals at work.

Just got through listening to it a couple times. Great stuff. I only wish they'd have played longer.

Saw the replay of Green Day on AOL's site, and they were excellent, too.

Floyd is AWESOME!! Wish I was There!

One of the Greatest bands ever...saw them in London during the "Ummagumma" days. Since then they've gone from strength to strength...with and without Roger Waters. Simply brilliant!!!!

The voices of a lot of older band members don't sound as good as they used to including the Who, but Pink Floyd still sounded great. Their entire set wasn't broadcast. It cut off during "Comfortably Numb."

I liked the sign that someone in the audience had:

PINK FLOYD REUNITED
PIGS HAVE FLOWN

I saw Deep Purple listed at the Live 8 website, but I guess they weren't there. Maybe that's why the Who was there and they weren't listed.

Just saw a copy of the BBC broadcast of Pink Floyd, and yes, they WERE awesome!

Nothing was cut either, unless you count the director's hypertension.

One of these days...

Careful now Tarkus, the whole title of that instrumental from Meddle is "One of these days, I'm going to cut you into little pieces"

Hi SD. Let's hope he didn't know about that last part.

Hi Yrgal. Floyd is awesome, but some of their lyrics are ...well, depressing if not criminal and suicidal.

I got a bike you can ride it if you like it's got a basket a bell and things to make it look good I'd give it to you if I could but I borrowed it.

Yep, real suicidal....

... I didn't say "all"

"day after day my love turns gray, like the skin on a dieing man
and night after night we pretend it's all right
but I have grown older and you have grown colder and nothing is very much fun
anymore
and I can feel
one of my turns coming on,
and I
feel
cold as a razor blade
tight as a touriquet
dry as a funeral drum.
Run to the bedroom in ths suitcase on the left you'll find my favorite axe.
Don't look so frightened, this is just a passing phase; one of my bad days".
