Photshop is screwed

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Says: Corrupted

Well, my copy of Adobe Photoshop CS2 will not start up any more, I have the full version, but I didn't want to register with Adobe.

When it gets to the point where it loads the default gradient file, it says that the file is corrupted. (I've put over 5 hours into making gradients)

The same goes for the default styles file. (again, over 30 hours of work in those styles)

Can anybody help me fix this without losing my layerstyles at least? At least tell me what file is the default styles file?

thats what i want to do
i just dont know what file is the default layerstles file.
ObjectDock - Access shortcuts and frequently used applications from an animated dock.

Might want to browse:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Presets
locally and save anything you need. [gradients/etc]

System restore might do it. A recent MS update broke some progs on my pc. System restore fixed it. It was windows media connect that did it to me.

Yeah...Just did my monthly Windows Update and it botched up all kinds of stuff on my PC...uninstalled the updates...rebooted...all is well again.

In Photoshop 7, the default styles (found in "\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7\Presets\Styles" folder, are as follows:

- Buttons.asl
- Image Effects.asl
- Text Effects.asl
- Textures.asl

To identify the default files for any of the presets, just show and select the appropriate pallet > click the Pallet Options (small arrow at upper right corner of pallet) > select "Reset Styles" > click "OK' in the dialog that follows.

This will unload the saved presets, but will not delete them.

You can then go to Edit > Preset Manager > select the Preset Type > default Presets will be displayed > mouse-over icon to show file name tip.

It helps. I think I wil just back up the presets folser and reinstall PS CS2.
