Laptop issues with...
Object Dock is messing with my laptops' stability!
from
WinCustomize Forums
Hello (anyone),
I am new to all this stuff as well. Have purchased Object Desktop, a subscription to WinCustomize, etc. I have downloaded numerous skins, cursors, bootskins, etc.
I have done this with not only a laptop, but two other desktops as well. My father also uses all above, and has a laptop and desktop using everything mentioned.
Here's the deal. When the laptops boot (not only mine, but my fathers as well), we get a Blue screen that occurs before Windows starts. It has a lot of text on it, and at the bottom, it says something about a "stop error". The only option at this point is to hit the power button and shut the computer down.
When the power button is pushed again, the computer starts, but comes to a boot screen that asks wether I would like to boot from last known good configuration (always do this), or boot w/, w/o networking, etc. Ok, I can boot to last known good configuration ok, that works almost every time. This has happened more than enough to me and my father with our laptops only. The desktops are running fine with everything.
My questions are; Is this happening or has it happened to anyone else? And, if so, how do I fix these laptops so I can stop worrying about turning on the computer without the blue stop screen???
Twice, I have had to do a System Restore (from windows, using the System Restore feature). That works ok, but it does mess with other things like the most recent versions of Adaware SE, and Spybot. Anyway, I'm looking for some upper level help here.
Thanks in advance,
Shawn
