A Screen Shots Question. . .

I wave been visiting WC for about four years and--no offense--but I have no idea of what is the purpose of the Screen Shots gallery. If it's to show how an individual has set up their desktop why don't they list the names of the components and how is this different from the monthly screen shot that are posted in the forum? Also, what is it that people are downloading from screen shots???

It is just to show off desktop setup, they should list the skins used and give the skinners credit, some do, as far as downloading a screenshot I have no idea why anyone would download, the download is just the .jpeg screenshot.

The Screen Shot Gallery is a way for everyone who is interested to show off their desktops. Show off the cool programs they have. It is for sharing ideas and designs with one another. And downloading it gives you a picture of the desktop just like when you download a wallpaper. I am not sure what the monthly screen shots is for. It may be what the Administration feels are the best of the lot.

I agree that the screenshots show little purpose if there is no mention of which skins etc. were used.

For some it is to 'display' their desktops...for appreciative comment...for others it's a tool to pass on info about some skinning detail or issue.

Originally...back in the days of skinz.org it was where skinners showed previews of their next latest and greatest for all to go 'ooh, aah' over....
