Wallpapers Preferences...

Okay i don't mean to sound like i'm complaining or something, but i'd like to know what does it take to get a wallpaper accepted in WC these days cause i'm spending hours and hours trying to make some good walls that never get accepted. So i'm leaving it to your judgement. Below are two links, the one goes to my Gallery and the other to my Album with moderated works. Please be critic about this and tell me what is wrong with walls and what critiria does a wallpaper have to have to be accepted.

Gallery: Link

Album: Link

Recently moderated works: Cream Amnesia, Distant Shadows, Imachination Emerald, Imachination Sunrise, Lonely Road, New Era II, New Era III, Spirito Antiquo, Where Is The Peace I Seek, Aquafire, Duet In Love, Walk Of Life, Aquafire, Relictum, Transilvania II, Light Flower, Golden Dragon, Blue Lagoon, Deepest Blue, A Light In Thy Dark.

What is wrong with them? Is too low quality or any other reasons?

I'm confused. And a bit disappointed.

I feel like most of the works i like don't get accepted, the ones that mean most to me, while the ones i consider unimportant or artistically of lower quality get accepted. I've been on this site for over three years but it's the first time i feel such dissappointment, it's not that walls don't get accepted, i know that a five to one rejection/acception ration is considered good, it's just walls i trust my taste to be considered as good are not accepted, while the ones i don't like do. What is happening here, i simply fail to understand.

There is some pretty good work there. As hard as this might sound, there is nothing Great. I am not going to get into the small details but I can see why they might have been moderated. Remember. you asked.
I am not sure how they do their moderating here but if your walls are uploaded the same day better wallpapers are uploaded they are going to get denied by comparison.

I was told that all the walls that are being moderated are comparred to each other, kind of like a school curve. As you know, I have a few of your walls , but none of those that were not accepted, would have made it to my machine, but I'am picky.

Remember, Bryce is moderated hard.

Just looked through all your walls...and I hate to say it but...I found 1 wall I might use. Now don't get me wrong...your obviously talented...but Like WOM I'm kinda picky. Fractals...and really busy looking walls never get to my collection. And although many of your walls look interesting...there was nothing that jumped out at me. But by all means keep plugging away. I wish I had the drive you did to make as many as you did.

Fractals.

Answer in one word.

Very, very few fractals are actually created with real imagination.

Point and click....even a novice Bryce work has more human input.

As I recall, without looking at your links, a 'few' fractals were accepted.... though that may have been more in the Logon or Boot sections.... not sure, not after the recent 'flood'.  If these fractals took any 'real' creative input to generate it's a reasonable assumption the uploads would be far less frequent....

Some of the Mods may do this, but I don't. I look at each wall indiviually, and usually pay no attention to who submitted it. I either think it's a good wall or I don't. Comparing it to another wall wouldn't make a bad wall any better.

I'd like to thank you all for the feedback, it's real nice to get some real opinions. I don't mind a good criticism and this is good. I'll have in mind the points you've aroused as you probably know better.

Maybe you are right cause i tend to create small series of walls similarly themed and then upload them all together. If that's the case i'll try to upload one at a time of creation.

These fractals took a whole week for a pack of six. Some where as you said point and click, but others are made up of two or three layers and the formulas used have been changed. Plus rendering time takes from 30 mins to 16 hours. But i'm still learning Ultra Fractals and i do know it has some incredible uses. I'll be sharpening my skills with it before retry.

For the moment my exams period starts in University so i'll be busy with them for the next two weeks. Afterwards my holiday season starts for three months. I'll be getting a new hard drive and probably a new graphics card. I think i'll start some Photoshop projects, just to see if the styles point n' click works out better. Oh and finally finish my first WB.

Have a good day everybody and thanks again.

I judge walls on three criteria: Its effectiveness as a wall, the skill level involved and it's physical appearence/suitability for a theme.

All subjective, but important if it is to fit a theme. Remember, this is a skinning site, and walls are here to complement skins, not be a means to an end in themselves
