CursorXP crashes on startup

After the last re-install of Windows, CursorXP (paid version) crashes on startup. It will either not apply at all, or it will apply the cursor and then lock up the desktop, giving me the "CursorXP has encountered a problem and must close" message. At that point I usually have to do a hard reboot, since I can't see my cursor and the desktop is usually locked up anyway.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling through Stardock Central, but still get the same problem. At the moment it is uninstalled, but I'd like to get it working again.

I had the same problem after I upgraded to an Athlon64. The latest version of CursorXP solved that issue for me.

When you did the uninstall/reinstall did you clean out all traces of cursorxp prior to the reinstall?

It worked for me a while back.

Save any cursors 1st. I just copied the whole folder to my desktop prior to deleting the original folder.

Thanks guys
I did a more thorough cleaning, as Bichur suggested, including deleting the cursorxp folder from the registry files. Everything seems to be good again. Even tested with couple reboots.
