You're Black and They Want To Beat You Up

Okay, first off I would like to know why so many people have a problem with black people. Why? The only difference is the skin color.

I absolutly hate it when someone makes fun of another person just because they're not white. They're all people just like you and me. And I hate it when people say the word "nigger". I can't stand it.

My family actually has black in it's history. And I'm sad to say that my uncle has it in for black people even though we've had black people in our family. What the hell is up with that? It kind of doesn't make sense. Or at least it doesn't to me.

I think just as many white people get put in jail and commit crimes just as many times black people do too. So it makes white people just as filthy if not worse than them. We all go around saying that blacks are theifs and bad people just b/c in our minds we've planted that they're in jail more often and so on.

Just last night on my school bus some 8th grade who thinks he's some hot shot was talking about a new 8th grader at our school who is black. He plainly said that he wanted to beat the kid up b/c he's black. I'm sorry....but you just don't do that. I exploded on that kid. I think I set him straight. Or at least I hope I did.

Am I at the wrong to think that this is wrong? Treating black humans with disrespect? I'm open for opinions......

Where were you 45 years ago when I was marching in civil rights marches? It's been a long struggle to eradicate the evils of racism, war and all other destructive isms that are eating away at the very core of our existance..
We've come a long way baby... keep fighting those evils and hang in there!

No you're not wrong to think racism is wrong. It's been one of the biggest stumbling blocks for the human race throughout history. Sadly, it isn't likely to change any time soon.

I dont know where you live, but I hope that you confront that ignorant bully (for that is what he is) and put him in his place.

vestiges of Racism still exist as you see.  But they are the exception, not the rule any more.  he is an anachronism that is trying to satisfy a parent that long ago lost all respect from society.

Given your narrative, I assume that you live in a predominantly white area.  How many Italians?  They are not white as your bigot would assume.  How many Hispanics?  iam sure he does not think of them that way, yet does he hate them?

The 'white' that he seems to think is so superior is a myth.  For in truth most americans have more mixture of colors than the rainbow.  And the intelligent ones celebrate that fact.

I am darker than my wife.  She is Hispanic.  I am not.  But then we have many ancestors and that has led to the fact that a 'white' man can marry an 'hispanic' lady, and be darker than her.  In point of fact, half her cousins and sisters are 'whiter' than most of the Aryan race purist out there.

It is a good article.  The anseer to your question is, just jerks want to do that because they dont have the intelligence to accept the fact they are stupid.

Well, if this isn't a topic that's had quite a life. Of course racism is wrong....I don't respect racists in the least...and racists can be any race. I don't mind blacks, whites, asians, hispanics, etc, etc. People are people and that's all that matters....but you get the crazy radicals that want some pure race and they think that they're hot shit.

Why can't we learn to hate people for who they are, not what they are?

I believe that the last part of your sentence should be "not for the color of their skin". By you rationale it would be wrong to hate say Osama or a serial killer? Since "both" are killers I hate them for "what" they are!

Okay.....maybe when I said that there might be just as many white people in jail as there are black people I went a little too overboard. Sorry. I was very furious while writing. Trust me I'm not going to be racist against my own color. What I really meant by that is that white people are just as bad as black people becaue they get put into jail too. Just because there might be more black people in jail doesn't make them worse than anyone else.

Sorry for the miscommunication. My bad!

Hopefully I can put that stupid little kid in his place!!! And the kid that he wants to beat up has an older sister that is in my grade. Hopefully I'll make friends with her or something.....but come to think of it.....i do have a black friend. In fact....she's one of mmy best friends. But another friend never hurts!

Well it's good to know you're not racist Piper. I think we all discriminate agains others of the same or different color. But Brandon seems to think that we're all racist against people with other skin color even if we say we're not. I'm not so sure if that's true or not.

Carebear, I think it's great for you to feel the way you do as a child of this generation and to stand up for what you see is wrong. Kudos on that and not being afraid to voice your opinion.

It's unfortunate that there are people who still hate others just because of their skin color. It's something that I dislike very much myself when it happens to anyone. It is especially disheartening when this type of hate is spewing from the mouth and minds of children. They learn from the grown ups around them. It's sad that in most schools what race you are is still such a strong factor in whom you make friends with or in how you treat someone else. The good thing is, there aren't as many children who show this ignorance even if their parents are that way. Because they themselves know better and they leave themselves open to meet people who are different from them. This is our saving grace.

There is also hatred of another race not just from some white people but also from blacks, Hispanics, Asians. There are militant factors in every group. It is of course these people's ignorance why race relations in America and infact all over the world will remain as is. But having lived in a different country than this one, I can say that race relation is much more intense here than where I'm originally from. There it was more of class racism; i.e., how wealthy or poor someone is or how intelligent one is assumed to be.



Blacks commit (and are convicted of) far more crimes than any other racial group in America. The reasons for that are debatable but the numbers themselves are not.


Sometimes there are a lot of innocent people who are convicted and sometimes there are a lot of guilty people that are just thrown into the system just because they are blacks and although the crime might just be a misdemeanor, the book is thrown at them anyway, why bother try to find out the whats and/or whys, they (blacks) do it all the time anyway and are always guilty, right? (this used to be the thinking by the people in charge way back in the day, and unfortunately, there are still some of those people around who still think the same way. Thank God for those who are not like that, who stand up for integrity and justice!


Getting to know someone who is different from you is the right thing to do Carebear. Goodluck!

What the hell do you think you are doing, people have the right to there own opinion you had no right yelling at those kids like you did, so they are not starting off on the right foot or don't believe the way you do, doesn't give you a right to say you are wrong you shouldn't beat that kid up because of there color, so maybe it isn't the right decision that they made, but that is the way they fell they are kids and that is what kids do, they will own by there own mistakes, that is how they learn, don't mess that up. I can't believe what you did. You are horrible.
This article sucks the only reason you used the word BLACK for your title is b.c you know you will be people to read and comment, you don't write what you fell you write to get points and that is horrible if you really cared about black people you wouldn't even use the word BLACK in your title and then see how many comments or people you get.
And half of your poems that i have read are copied they are not even your's you are a fraud.

At least she stood up for what she saw was wrong and not sit quietly like others seem to do. She's a very brave girl and you can't take that away from her.

Even if she hadn't used the word "black" in the title, her story would still have been read and would have been commented on. It only takes one person to stand up. So either you're going to stand up too or shut up!
