Local news (WUSA TV 9, a Gannett station) included a report indicating that several parents were out protesting in front of the Children's Television Workshop headquarters. Protesting what? The decision to have childhood icon Cookie Monster start becoming an advocate for healthier foods. Instead of C is for cookies, C will sometimes be for cookies. Several upset parents were out protesting this idiocy and this relatively blasphemous decision to ruin the happy memories of Cookie Monster who always had fun devouring cookies and encouraging others to do the same.
Next thing you know The Count will be pushed off PBS because he resembles a vampire and is seen as too scarey or not politically correct enough to appear in a childrens show.
