Did you happen to know that the colonists were founded by radicals? Today, liberals are branded as radicals because we support change and are not reactionaries like conservatives.

Let me make this clear: I support the values that America stands for, ie freedom and democracy. My irritation stems from the people currently in power. There is a big difference between disliking the entire country and just disliking some people. I respect your right to rant but maybe you should try to stand up for yourself with more than complaints...

Disliking Bush is not tantamount to disliking America.

*I* don't like Bush.  I think he's a fairly lousy President overall.  The best I can say for him is that he was bold enough to take strong action in the war on terror -- first by recognizing that it is a war.

I think our fuzzy-conservative friend has a growing frustration with the idea of divided loyalties. He is unable to express himself in an effective manner and thus brings on the rant. He has a cast in stone perception of authourity. The polarized opinion must sicken him because on some level he realizes people doubt their leader. This schism is most likely seen as a cancerous deterioration of ideals rather than a growing awareness of post mccarthy-like behaviour. Maybe this is mirroring some personal issue and his world is deconstructing before his very eyes. I have a feeling the never-ending series of questions shot at his leader irritate him greatly. The lefty's are introducing a problem where there was none in his view, and their skepticism is unwarranted despite a turbulent and controversial first term.

But then again it might just be an overdose of drugs.

That pefectly sums up my opinion on the matter as well. I said before in one of my articles: I don't chastise people who voted for Kerry as part of the "Anybody But Bush" movement simply because my vote for Bush wasn't really a vote for Bush, it was a vote against Kerry.

As for the rest... liberals aren't bad people, just... misguided. Speak as they will about noble philosophies and ideals, I've always considered the proof to be in the pudding, and let's face it: you poll the top 1000 most successful (fiscally) people in the world, and I'm guessing the graph will be somewhat skewed to the right. Haha, get it, skewed to the... alright, bad pun.

That's not to say that money is everything, but you can do a heck of a lot more for the things you believe in with a few millions in the bank than you can with a sign made out of cardbored and popsicle sticks.
