Where do the cost of building things show up?

I just can't see where the cost of building things appear in the economy screen. Is the cost spread out and put under the maintanence category? It doesn't seem like it. Or is it billed all at once when the item is completed? Also why is it that no matter how few "social" buildings you are constructing the cost of your social program can be quite large if you want to complete the project in a reasonable amount of time? I'm kicking this back to the top because I'd really like to hear from someone on this. Now that my empire is in the money it seems less crucial but I'd still like to know and in the beginning money seems tight. -N

It's shown in the same miniwindow containing the beautiful spinning icon. Same with the military stuff.

The only time you make a large lump sum is if you do a rush build from one of four manufacturers.

Ok. But I just looked in the game -on the domestic policy screen that I use to see financial stuff and I don't see it. If you mean the spinning picture of the building being constructed I do see the cost of it listed but I don't see how it factors into the calculations on the domestic policy financial screen. Is that what you meant? Thanx -Nathan
