There was an editorial piece in the NY Times that was praising the Illegals.  Their contention?  They contribute about $7b to social security each year.

Not only should these border jumpers be immediately dropped off in Tierra Del Fuego, but their crybaby advocates in the media, academia, government, and law firms should be deported along with them.

Mexican soldiers caught running drugs across the border should be shot on sight. If they're in vehicles, they should be blasted with a rocket.

Yeah. Except for the fact they cost the taxpayers of this country 8.5 times more than that. I'm waiting for the NYT to report that.

Wanna solve the illegal immigration problem? It's easy. Implement a "shoot on sight" program and deputize any citizen who wants to head south for a little target practice.


That's already going on at the Arizona borders. There are citizens on patrol helping the INS catch people crossing the border illegally. So far, no shooting. Not yet anyway. But they do have guns!

First, this very hysteria is why the program isworking so well.  So many of the Illegals think that they will be shot on sight.

Second, not all are carrying guns, only those previously licensed to carry Handguns.  No Rifles are allowed.

Third, they are not allowed to stop or detain anyone, period.  They can only report to the Border Patrol upon a sighting.

Fourth, if any who are legally permitted to carry the gun were to use it in anything other than self defense, they would be up on at least attempted murder charges, or actual murder charges.

Fifth, since this has been going on for a week already, and there have been NO reports of any Minuteman using a firearm, dont you think it is time to drop the inflamatory rhetoric?

I'm in the same boat as little_whip here. My wife and I are well into year number two of the new reality series, "The Immigration Game", where you see how long you last before you shoot a government employee or yourself out of frustration. I've been outspoken about immigration, and I'm tired of hearing that I'm a racist, or that I have some superiority complex as an American, or that I'm a cultural (American) elitist. My wife is an ASIAN from ASIA... oh yeah, and I'm a white, Jewish, male. So, I obviously fit into the WASP racist mold.

I'm glad that we finally have people willing to stand up and make a statement by going down and getting involved. I'm not overly impressed by how the Pres. is handling the immigration issue, and I hope that we start to crack down on it more. Yeah, cheap labor is great, but the tax burden is tremendous. Enough is enough.

My husband and I went through and extensive process and paid quite a bit of money to get me here LEGALLY. L-E-G-A-L-L-Y. So, when I hear that 'undocumented' immigrants are getting this and that and the other I get a little ticked off. What am I getting? Is my contribution to this country less valuable because I hold an immigration card?
