Terri dies and the Pope read last rites

today in History..

I woke up this morning to the news that Terri Schiavo had passed away. Im also waking up to the news that at the moment the Pope is being read his last rites.

Here we have two people who have made an impact on the psyche of the human spirit. May they both find some sort of peace in and comfort from the energy sent out by humanity.

They will.  For more than the rest of us, while man has reviled each of them in their own right, he has smiled on both of them.

This side of the world, we were awake and stunned by Terri, and watched through the day with the Pope.  many called for his retirement, but the man will not give up.  We will pray for his best intent, and are glad that the American Judicial system will not decide it.

Here we have an uncanny parallel between the two lives. One where man has decided and the other where we are letting God decide.

Given the fallibility of man (by design), I trust God a lot more.  But that was a very insightful response.

Yeah so do I.

It comes in threes. We can't forget about Johnny Cochran.

I just think there is an uncanny parallel between the two lives..well their deaths anyhow. Call me weird but for me nothing happens without a reason, just like the link I am seeing between Boxing Day and Easter Monday.

We will wait and see.  HOwever, I want to read your article on the super Volcano (I saw it just have not read it), as I think that has more to do with the earthquakes than any supernatural design.

But that does not give me warm fuzzies as if the Supervolcano is about to blow, life as we know it will cease to exist according to scientists.

Didn't Cochran originate the "Chewbacca Defense"?

Cochran

Whos Cochran?

if the Supervolcano is about to blow, life as we know it will cease to exist according to scientists.

That could be interesting

I can hardly equate his "accomplishments" with those of the Pope, nor his innocence with that of Terri Shiavo's.

I dont know who he is so I cant comment.

That's what I've been thinking all morning too.
Johnny Cochran was a defense attorney who had some celebrity clients, including OJ Simpson...

Ahh ok.. THAT is who he is! hmm somehow I dont see the connection between them.

He died the day before Terri.  And he had a brain tumor (that one is a stretch).  But I dont think many people see a connection.  He was just a famous (in the US) person who died.

Ok, P...there's superstition that death comes in threes. First Johnnie Cochran dies, then Teri Schiavo...and now the Pope is on his way out, which will bring the total of deaths to three.

Make sense now?

Famous quote: "If the glove don't fit, you must aquit". Does that ring any bells? OJ?

He will be remembered for that one! I wonder when Bartlett's will have it in their book?

It'll "probably" be the *only* thing he's remembered for!

They just announced it, Dr G, the Pope has left the building.

My condolences to you, and to all Catholics in the world.

Big time bummer. He was a good person and will be missed by many!
