Winmedia problem..need help!

ok i downloaded the skins for window media player....i clicked on the wmz file and works fine...but
whenever i click on the wmp icon...it appears in normal mode not skin mode....and then i have to choose the skin manuelly...I have to do this everytime i open wmv....but with wmp version 9...it worked fine...

This is just a guess, but are your skins getting installed into the Winmedia skin directory within the "Skins" folder inside the winmedia folder?...

That might be the problem..

I also have the same problem, it seems that wmp 10 blocks foreign skins. wmp9 allows all types, but wmp 10 only allows skins to stay "permanently" loaded from their site. I can load new skins, but they will disappear as soon as you try to reopen wmp or go from skin to full back to skin mode. Does anyone have a crack to this problem?

I have found the solution, it is a problem with XP SP2 and can be easily fixed. First right click the .wmz file and then click properties. On the very bottom click unblock. Make sure the file is in the skins folder [documentsandsettings/applicationdata/windowmediaplayer/skins/(subfolder)]. Then you are home free.
