Jessica Lunsford is dead.

John Couey, the 'person of interest' in the case of the missing girl, has reportedly confessed to her abduction and murder.

I think someone should just shoot people like Couey in the head. They would do the world a favor. To anyone who disagrees, I think you should imagine yourself as a relative of a murder victim. Wake up and smell the blood.

I think that would be too simple, personally.

I'm trying to.....I think that I'd get more satisfaction out of knowing that he's locked up in a 6 by 10' cell 23 hours a day with no TV, radio, phone or reading privileges for the rest of his sorry ass life.  Death gives him a release, see.........so I'd rather know that he's alive and suffering.  Not very buddhist like of me, no....but then again I'm not a buddha, I'm just a human.

Death is the only way to be 100% certain that he never does it again.

From what I've heard about child molesters in jail, he is headed for "Hell on Earth" and a fate 100x worse than death..........
Still doesn't bring back that little girl tho....
Cases like this certainly bring relativity to the current torture debate.............
I can picture this guy strapped across an ant hill, drizzled with honey, then treated for the bites, and returned the next day, ad infintum.....

Surgical castration and 100% lockdown would help....

There's a pecking order in jail, and child molestors and granny-beaters are the the bottom of the pile. The military has a special unit in the brig at Miramar where they house pedophiles with long sentences - it's too dangerous to have them integrated with the general population.

It's already been said that the DA will ask for the death penalty in this case.  I don't see how they could go with anything less than that.....

I don't think Couey has admitted to raping her, has he?
Surgical castration would prevent rape, but not murder.

I'm wiating to see if he met her on the Internet, because if he didn't there are some jerks here that spent a lot of time bitching and critiqueing her family that need to re-adjust themselves.

It's awful, especially since this fekk has already been in jail, and is a registered sex offender. They need to re-define "sex crimes", i.e. stop trying to use those laws to prosecute high school kids who get caught having sex.

THEN, they need to take every adult that gets caught like this guy did and simply never, ever let them out of jail. If you break into someone's house and molest their child like he did, and the society isn't up to executing you, then you damn well should never, ever see the light of day again. He gets out on parole, and years later does something like this...

Couey was staying at his sister's house, which is across the street from the Lunsford's.

You are absolutely, 100% correct, Baker.  We need some serious reform regarding what constitutes molestation and what doesnt.  The entire legal system needs a shot of common sense, come to think of it.

THEN, they need to take every adult that gets caught like this guy did and simply never, ever let them out of jail.

Right again.  Sexual offenders like this prick should have life sentences imposed on them...and life should mean just that, life.  They shouldn't be released from prison whilst they're drawing breath.  No parole, no probation, no sentence reduction, no chance of getting out.

Does anyone think that we are so concerned about infringing on the civil liberties of people like Couey that our judicial system can not do what we need to do to take care of the children in our society?

Jessica's father wants Couey to get the death sentence.

According to the papers, he didn't have to force entry into Jessica's home because the doors were not locked--I'm pretty sure that action deserves some critiqueing. Who in this day and age does not lock their doors? IMHO, that is much worse than not supervising your children on the internet.

The whole episode is tragic, and obviously the only person to blame is Couey. But the what ifs in this scenerio are mind boggling.
