Gideon to Soon Return to Prime Time

Blogging from the library has been the bane of my existence.

I will leave the library, and think of an excellent blog subject. I will ruminate over it until the following morning, then, a few scant minutes before arriving at the library, it will leave my head entirely. I am also limited as to how I can use the library's computer, as I can't save good links, and I don't have the software resources available to me that I would on my home computer. Add to that the fact that the times I post are not heavy user times, and it's a royal pain in the rear.

So, now, with a fresh infusion of cash, I purchased a used computer from the local computer store.I will be back online at home within about a week (the company's behind on installs, further slowed by yesterday's snowstorm), and will be able to blog more consistent with my original schedule. I'm hoping as well to be able to work on some of my writing projects and begin to make a career out of what has thus far been a hobby.

As nice as it will be for you to have easier and more consistent internet access, it's kind of scary too. I mean, you already write what? a dozen articles a day? Not complaining, but think about how many articles you'll be able to write then

best news ive heard in a while. i'm really glad for you and i'm positive you can make that career thing happen for yourself.

(when i was in tennessee last fall and was unable to find anyone with a halfway decent system or connection and needed to grab some stuff i'd stored online, the library proved to be a lifesaver.

it's pretty cool how libraries have taken to the net...and how steadfastly librarians have stood up against the forces of repression on behalf of people who use the service. )

I have worked with Librarians (and even have an honorary MLS!). I can tell you that they hate porn and hate sites with a passion, but believe in the free access to information with an even greater passion!

librarians seem to be the only group refusing to roll over for the the patriot actors and their demands for information about the citizens who patronize their libraries.
