Just installed WB, and I have no skins in WB config or desktop properties HELP!!

I am a Object desktop subscriber, and I just downloaded WB from SC. When I open the WB config utility there are no skins there but windows classic. Also in desktop properties there are no skins in the apperance tab either. What am I doing wrong?

OK, I just clicked the WB lode executable and then relaunched WB config and the skins were there. Then I rebooted and the windows classic skin loaded on startup. I had to go back and reapply the last skin. Seems like WBload.exe is not starting with windows.

Deselect any "Load at startup" options in any customization software, unload all programs and return to default windows theme including all icons (use to "Display Properties>Themes tab" and select Windows XP, click "Apply" to return to default theme).

Try uninstalling, reboot machine, and delete any WindowBlinds folder left in "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop" folder (where "C" is the letter drive).

Then reinstall WindowBlinds (as long as you have not changed (hacked) any "explorer.exe" settings, and your downloading functions are normal, you should be okay).

Note - back up any skins you want saved from the "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds" folder.

Good luck.

What happens when you click on the menu to change skins? Whenever I click on it, I get a box that pops up saying the skin cannot be loaded.

rmccabe916,

Which dialog are you in when clicking on a skin?

The Display Properties > Appearance tab, or the WindowBlinds Configuration panel?

Normally, you would just select the skin, then click either the "Apply" button in "Display Properties > Appearance tab", or click "Apply this skin now" in the "WindowBlinds Configuration panel".

Note - the skin folders need to be inside the WindowBlinds folder normally located at "C:\Program Files\Stardock\WindowBlinds" (or "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds" if you have the full package).
