How many actual JUsers out there?

I was wondering how many of us come around here in a daily basis. I mean of course, there's the ranking list but there are names in there i've never seen before.

I know it could be due to the time difference. But i'm sure there are also some people who've stopped blogging.

It amazes me how many people are blogging in here. I'm sure i only see the top of the iceberg.

So my fellow JU, how often do you blog?

(i'm so excited, i'm sure i'll get to 'meet' some new people or people that have been around and that i dont know about :) )

Well the community here tends to go through activity cycles with some small exceptions. There tends to be a core of bloggers who rise to the top through skill like Gideon MacLeish and some who stick it through dogged persistance in the face of their own incompetance like me.

It is a neat experience to reverse your normal schedule and see the posting activity during the other hours of the day though.

There is no one here, we're all just figments of your imagination As for how often this figment blogs, well I read and comment daily, write not so often.

Im here...not as much as I normally was but I tend to visit JU at least once a day normally but lately it has been about once ever 2 or 3 days.

But I guess being on this side of the hemisphere IG we get to see different bloggers and sometimes it is frustrating not being able to participate when the others are on here.. guess we can just all blog with each other when the rest are asleep..

Danny... are you really Tracey Givens in diguise?

I try to poke my head in at least once a day. Blogging generally is habit forming, though it does no damage (that we can ascertain so far).

I must admit, I sort of hang to catch up with particular people and the difficulty is the time difference, as you mentioned. I would love to have quicker interaction but settle for whatever I can get.

greywar: Nope, I can say with a fair sized amount of certainty that I am not Mr Givens. Although I hope he gets some help, be it to catch that family or get his head sorted out.
shameful advertisement: And I was having the thought that people could go to the JoeUser chat channel on stardock's irc server and not only could we count people, but talk real time (or as real time as typing is). Course, that only works for people that can chat where they are, work or similar could make that problematic. (island_gurl, you can delete my comment if it's too off topic, I won't mind)

The IRC would be fun but alas I wouldn't be able to participate from here....

I pop in a few times a dy to see what the regulars have to say... I usually read by blogger rather than by topic... I try to post a few times a week, not counting the awful jokes I post just to get points

Certainly is. I fell asleep WAY to early last night so I'm typing to you from early in the morning. I read and comment about everyday, but writing, well, let's just say my muse is on strike.

ParaTed2k Reporting For Duty!!!

I'm here everyday. I figure I average about 5 articles a week, and tend towards the annoying in the amount of postings in other's blogs. Since I have no schedule in real life, I have no time that I'm usually on JU. 2:00am and 2:00pm have become about the same to me.

Most my postings and articles tend toward the satirical and sarcastic, but may are more serious. I'll leave it up to the reader to decide which is which! ;~D

I blog as often as I got something to say, which incidently is not a lot nowadays.

I usually log on here about everyday....mostly in the evening. I read here and there, comment often....however my article count has been growing slowly lately. I'm lucky to polish off 3 articles a week....but sometimes I get a lot of ideas and can post 5 or more a day...

I'm here off and on throughout the day (and now because my husband and 2 friends are watching Battlestar Galactica and I'm not interested)
I read alot, comment a little and post a few

I have noticed a few interesting things though - between the hours of 6pm and 8pm Australian time JU is virtually dead.
There's a few maybe 5 or 10 people lurking in the forums but nothing like the hive of activity between 10am and 2pm my time.
I have also noticed that it kinda tapers off anytime around 3pm my time. (FYI 12:30pm my time is 10:30pm Death by Beebles time)
The recent articles stay in for AGES without a new one and the forums rarely change.

Since it's now 10pm my time I imagine the activity will perk up soon as the East heads off to bed Wednesday night and the west gets up for their Wednesday morning.

I read and comment 2-3 times a day. You have to realize that since I'm disabled I don't have a lot of other stuff to do.
I read every day, usually a couple of times a day....before I go to work and when I come back.
Like Drmiler, if I'm home with not a lot to do, I'll be on here a lot more.

Here usually once or twice a day.  Early morning my time (before 8) or after 5.  It depends upon how the systems are holding up.

I read a LOT. I read almost everything posted these days, but I've been commenting less for some reason. Perhaps becasue I've been so busy this last month. I'm moving to a new house right now, so after this weekend maybe things will lighten up a bit and I can focus more. I think there might be a lot of "lurkers" like me.

I'm on and off during the day. I blog mostly during the day, from work, so I keep the webpage open until I close it. I read a lot and comment often. Haven't written anything since last week I guess. I do have a couple of things I want to write about but have been busy so no time to put intelligent words together. Although I have a poem I'm about to post.

My time is Eastern Standard - it's Wednesday morning and raining

After careful consideration and a bit of number crunching, I've come to the conclusion that there are in fact only 4 bloggers.
-We have Marvin Cooley who I think manages all the crazy/looney blogs (i.e. Tracy Givens)
-We have Aeryck who does all the religious kool-aid drinker blogs
-We have the BizNet people who write every spam blog
-Finally we have Gideon who writes everything else you read here. I think he types approximately 400 words per minute.

On-topic though... I'm here just about every day during the week, checking in several times a day when work gets a bit slow.

I try to poke in once a day...but when I'm too busy with other stuff (like yesterday...sigh ) maybe every other day or every 2 days...I wish I had more time to write well thought out articles.

I come in everyday. Yup, addicted. Don't comment so much as just read.

Woow you guys thanks for commenting! i'll answer these the best i can, so here goes:

greywar: i think the community gets active when i'm sleeping, like pb & trina mentioned. Which is really unfair cuz we miss half the fun. That was kind of the point of this article, who's here really? And are others just ghosts on the ranking list or what?
Hehe, btw, i think i'm part of the
some who stick it through dogged persistance in the face of their own incompetance
.

Danny:
There is no one here, we're all just figments of your imagination
I knew it!! hah!
You're not Tracey Givens, you're more like Big Brother, cuz you're always here commenting on everyones thread

Phoenixboi: I'm glad you're still around. I thought it would be a waste to see you go. So not often is better than never

Maso: mwahahah!! You're addicted to JU!!!
I must admit, I sort of hang to catch up with particular people
I'm glad i'm one of them, it's a honour! But then again you're maybe settling for less, sniff!

Manopeace, haha! you points whore you!!

NJForever: your muse is on strike too?? Man, they must have an union or something those bloody muses, lol!

Salute Parated! *slap my forehead, ouch!*
Satirical and sarcastic daily? Mmh, sounds good to me...

Ravenblack, well quality is better than quantity as they say

I read here and there, comment often....however my article count has been growing slowly lately. I'm lucky to polish off 3 articles a week....but sometimes I get a lot of ideas and can post 5 or more a day...

I'm in the same position actually. Except that i log at lunch times or during the day when i'm slacking off As for ^posting articles well i'm just like u, sometimes prolific, sometimes trying to hire a new muse...

Hey trina, I think you're right lunch time here and 5 pm JU is awake. But as soon as it hits 3 pm there's no one

drmiler, i didnt know you were disabled?? Sorry to hear about that...

dharma & Dr Guy, yeap it seemed to me you'd both say you come here a lot I see alot of your posts around.

Cordelia, wow, if you read everything i'm like wow! I've tried to read as much as i could once but i started to get a headache, lol. There are so many articles and so many bloggers out there!

C'mon foreverserinity, get down to it and post us your poem! i hope you find the time to post more often.

Hehe, zoomba, i might agree with you about the 4 bloggers thing, lol. See you're here everyday of the week but i hardly 'see' you!

Inbloom, thanks for stopping by. I hope you really get the time to post more, i like your articles. I dont comment as much as i'd like to but i try

xtine, hehe, another junkie here lol! I'm like you read a lot, but not comment as much as i'd like.

Thanks y'all for stopping by! I'm sure we're still far from the number of bloggers who come on JU as regular users... Like there's Texas Wahine, the Cornbread gang ( ) except for zoo who showed up, and others that are out there.

NJForever: your muse is on strike too?? Man, they must have an union or something those bloody muses, lol!

Aye, that they do. The problem is, my muse is not very good (just look at my sub-par articles) but is always demanding more pay, so it goes on strike a lot. I'd hire a scab, but you can only hire 1 muse per lifetime.
