Newbie needs some more help

hey again,

ok, so over the last few days, i've been dl'ing and installing a bunch of cool stuff for my OD (free version), but now it seems to have caught a bug. I will start it up, and it will be running perfectly, then after a while, the whole dock will just dissapear. The application is still running, but the dock goes invisible. It just times out or something. Any ideas? I heard something about systats messing stuff up, so i removed it from the OD directories and deleted it, but it still does it. The only way i get the dock back is to double-click on the App-icon (.exe file), and then it pops back as if nothing happened.

any help appreciated,

surfer349,

I don't use systats, so I am not sure on that part.

If you want to start over, copy any images you want to save to a folder in say "My Documents", deselect any option in objectdock configuration to run at start-up, return GUI to the default settings, unload any running programs (except Firewall and Anti-Virus), then uninstall objectdock.

Reboot machine and go to "C:\Documents and Settings\"user account"\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock" (where "C" is the letter drive, and "user name" is the name of account when you are logged on) and delete any "ObjectDock" folders left there.

Note - you may have to go to "Tools>Folder Options>View tab" and select "Show hidden files and folders" if you cannot see the "Local Settings" folder mentioned above.

Then go to "C:\Program Files\Stardock" folder (again where "C" is the letter drive) and delete any "ObjectDock" folder left there.

Now reinstall program, reboot machine, and move your saved images back to either the "Images" folder or one you create at the same level as the "Images" folder in the "C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock" folder.

Start ObjectDock and run the default theme to verify you have a good install, then have fun (perhaps avoid the systats for a while).

I hope this helps.
