Dogs a lethal weapon?

The New York State Legislature debates, and I add my two cents

This week the New York State Assembly started debating a new topic; whether or not dogs are lethal weapons, and I just had to add my views.

Dogs have attained the title of "man's best friend", and that's what most of them are. The golden retrievers, labradors and pugs of the world have enjoyed centuries of prestiege and adoration with the general population. They are pets, workers, helpers, and rescuers in some cases. But sometimes these dogs can turn against us.

In the past century or two, some dogs have been trained not to love and play fetch, but rather to hunt and kill anything that moves. Personally, I disapprove heavily of guard dogs, watch dogs, etc., solely on the grounds that I believe it's immoral how they train the dogs. However, I have been given a new grievance. These dogs are sometimes sold to unsuspecting customers, who then take them home and make them family pets. However, these dogs never forget their training, and, at least in my oppinion, it's only a matter of time efore they kill. This point has been proven over and over by the countless maulings and deaths of random people who have almost no connection to the animals.

So, in my humble opinion, dogs can be a deadly weapon in certain curcumstances, and man's best friend in others. Ergo, I believe that the NYS assembly should vote that dogs are in fact a deadly weapon.

I don't know about dogs being declared a lethal weapon, but dogs that are trained to kill should definitely require registration.

I think that puppie farms are more likely to create a vicious dog. License these "Trainers" Because a dog is only
a reflection of how they are treated by the people in their life. Good, bad and ugly.
