It's good to have someone with whom to share your life and thoughts. In my experience, you're more likely to make a good friend by walking out the front door than by sitting at a computer, but you never know.

I'll second what MasonM said. Even if you do find someone online what are the odds you live anywhere near each other? Not to say long distance doesn't work, but it is more difficult then being nearby. And if you get out and wander around, well whoever you find will be nearby. In any case, may you find what your looking for.
