WatchList updated!

and other minor updates/fixes

https://www.wincustomize.com/watchlist.aspx

After much delay the Watchlist has finally been updated so you are now able to view and manage the articles that you have added to your watchlist!

For those of you who are not familar with the watch list, it allows to you select specific articles that you are interested in and combine them into a unified list where you can easily view them.  Also, when new replies have been made to that article an email is sent to you notifying you of the new activity.  This is great for those who post questions and do not get a chance to check back regulary.  With the email notification all you need to do is check your email!

Also, in addition to watching articles you can watch Author's as well.  You can watch the author for either New Skins or New Articles.  Any new activity by the author's that you are watching will show up in the watch list page. We don't send out email notifications  yet for the Author watch, but, we hope to make that option available at a later time.  So if you have a favorite skin author just add them to your watch list.  If they post a new skin or article it will be listed on the watch list page making it easier for you to find!

In additions to the watch list updates I just posted a couple of fixes too.  The SkinComment count was not incrementing.  That has been fixed so when a new comment is posted the count will be adjusted at that time.

Also, in the forums if you commented on a post and  you were the last person to comment, it always showed that post as having new replies.  That has been corrected and should show the post as being read.

And lastly as a side note. Last week we moved some WinCustomize from our ISP in California to a different ISP in Chicago and onto new faster servers.  In doing this we also have consolodated the WWW and WWW2 servers on to one single machine.   There were a few glitches during the move which caused some of the problems you may have seen last week.  But we believe we have everything all set now and hope that WinCustomize will run more steadily on the new servers and location!

While this is a cool thing to have, it'd be better to have the watchlist extended to watching skins themselves instead of just authors. But why am I not able to watch skin authors too? I see the 'Watch' button on articles but I don't see them on skin authors when I view the author's profile page.

Nice to have you on watch, Janitor T-Man.

It's a tough job you all do, and I would just like to express my sincere appreciation.

Thank you very much.

At the moment you can only watch skin authors if you go to their WinCustomize Personal Page (ie: t-man.wincustomize.com) and click on the Add Watch link at the top of the page.  We do plan on adding the ability to watch a skin and/or author from the details page at a later time.  The article watch was mostly already implemented and just needed to be finished up.

Since changing over to your Chicago servers things seem to be running much smoother!

I was beginning to think my cursor was going to just spin forever. Things are back to a new and improved normal...the watch area works great...

~ One question though, not sure your the proper party to address this to, but I've asked before and noone seems to answer this..
In order for me to rate a skin/screenshot etc..the rating stars are not able to be clicked on ,they are just solid stars, no mouseover is visible..for me to rate a skin I have to click on the author/user name, then if they have a wincustomize site, if I open that window, then all their skins have a visible rating area and i can click on the stars and get a " done " message. I asked other and they don't have to open 3 pages to rate a skin. I've already incorporated my Stardock account with Wincustomize long ago and its the same email address. Any suggestions ?
