President Bush has asked for 80 billion dollars for the war on terror. Let me repeat that. President Bush has asked for 80 billion (that’s B, as in boy is that a lot) dollars for the war on terror.

AND NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT !!!!!!!

Now, let’s assume there is good reason for spending money while we are operating under a deficit. Let’s assume that it is needed. I understand our people are over there and have expensive and immediate needs. But, it amazes me that with the supposedly “Liberal” media, no one is asking any questions. Or getting any answers for questions such as:

What is the money for? Nothing specific, national security and all, but just general terms.

Will you need more money later? How soon is later?

How soon with this war be over in the current theater? I understand we removed a bad man and that we must now create a stable government for the one we destroyed and we must ensure that the new government will not become corrupt or violent. But it has been a while.

Now I do not need a specific timeline, just a ballpark month. Year? Decade?

Can you play poker? Do you know about diminishing returns?

80 Billion. And no one asks?

The position that too many Republicans take today is that no answer NEED be given.


However, as long as the media persists in criticizing Bush for how he's running the war, the Republicans will be able to ask for -- and receive -- as much money as they want.
