The Soldier That Time Forgot

A Frightening Tale of PERSCOM Gone Horribly Awry...

Here in the Space A luxury Hovel and Flop-house there lives a soldier. He was called up from civilian life and sent to Iraq. No problem there right? Wrong.

Through the dual miracles of Personell Command's lightning speed and efficiency he got here 3 months after the unit he was supposed to be activated into had already gone back to the US. That was December 20th and he is still living in the homeless shelter with us a full month later. Will the Army find a new spot for him? Will the send him back home? Hey your guess is as good as his because like all REMF units decisiveness is in terribly short supply here. Couple this with the fact that there is no one in charge at this gypsy camp and you have a long term stay with no fucking info.

Not that he hasn't kept busy mind you... He has improved his cot area into something fairly liveable over that length of time but still... a few blanket "walls" and a headset do not constitute long term living arrangements.

My point (for those who seem to need everything spelled out in 80pt font (master writer)) is that it could be worse:) After all, I am scheduled to fly out today.
