Honor....
Do you know what it means?
Honor...
Something only in dreams?
Society has no shame,
Always looking for someone to blame.
Never accepting what they do,
Accusing everyone, save a few.
What has happened to honor?
Is it misplaced or just a goner?
People used to stand strong,
Believing firmly in right and wrong.
Now the days are stark,
Dangers lurking in the dark.
Men are useless and weak,
Too afraid to stand and speak.
So very few embrace chivalry,
Now all but consumed in rivalry.
There is no warrior code,
Only boasting about one's abode.
What happened to people, once proud?
Now bitching about a tree or cloud.
Pettiness reigns supreme,
Angry if their coffee has too little cream.
Truth is only relative today,
Lies consume people in the worst way.
Deception, murder, and unfair fights,
Represent but a few of recent plights.
Where has the light of honor gone?
Extinguished, as a candle in a pond.
A concept that resides in but a few,
I know I believe in honor, do you?
