What Makes You Different?
This is who I am

What makes a person an individual, set apart from all others? For me, it’s many aspects of myself that distinguish me from the crowd. When I begin to doubt who I am, I think about the things that set me apart. I’ve always prided myself in knowing that I wanted to be different and that nothing could stop me from being me.
This is who I am:
I’m tall and have stark blue eyes. My naturally blonde curls frame my freckled face. Although looks set people apart, I believe that it’s one’s personality that really makes them who they are. It’s the things they love about the world around them and about themselves.
It’s the little things in life that make me the most happy. I have so much fun driving, as simple as it seems, it’s something that I look forward to every day. It’s a time when I can play my music as loud as I like and think about life’s complications. Riding my horse through the snow and coming in to have a hot shower and drink tea is something I enjoy. In winter you can find me playing the piano or reading by the fire. Some afternoons you can see me talking with friends in the coffee shop. In the summer you’ll see me playing softball or lying on the beach for hours, thinking about life, staring at the sky and small waves as the sun kisses my fair skin.
When it gets dark, I love looking at the deep sky through lacy trees, as the stars twinkle. I enjoy sipping the foam from the top of my French vanilla cappuccino, as I listen to Oldies. Knowing how much God loves me makes me thrilled to be alive. Knowing that I have more than a “religion”, that I have an actual relationship with my Saviour makes life worth living. My family is a big part of my life; my mom is my best friend.
I love challenges. Often times I think of solutions to problems before they even exist. I love how everything always works out, and that in the midst of chaos I can rest assured that I will live and it won’t matter much in the long run.
I have fun arguing and even playing Devil’s advocate at times. It allows me to see issues from different points of view and helps me know what I truly believe.
I enjoy learning. I like learning through reading and observing. I could sit downtown at our small coffee shop all day and watch the people walk by, going about their business. I love finding new quirks in my friends and family members. I love discovering new things that make them who they are. Learning new things about myself is something I strive for everyday. I like myself, for the most part. I like how well I can understand my friends. I like my sense of humour and the fact that smiles are contagious.
I like all my little quirks and the things that make me, me.
