What kind of shoe are you?

If you were a shoe, what kind of shoe would you be?  If you could be any shoe at all, what kind of shoe would you LIKE to be?

I think that I'd be a Birkenstock clog.  Sturdy, comfortable, practical, functional....kind of hippie-ish, a little funky....but not too much.

Now if I could be ANY shoe....I'd have to be a red stiletto.  Pointy toes, sexy as all get out (which is pretty dang sexy, lemme tell ya)...a real siren super-hot-momma kinda shoe.

So...what are YOU?

This was a quiz I did once - I was a practical pump but I wanted to be the chic urban shoe -- actually I just wanted to own the chic urban show I liked the look of it. http://web.tickle.com/tests/shoe/

I not know shoe names and such, but boots are fun, at least if they have good grip to the soles.

I'm a pair of 1920s mint green pumps.

Make of that what you will.

And red stilettos are very sexy but once you take 'em off, you're thankful for those Birkies!

Hope you're doing okay

Yeah Dyl, I'm fine....I just need to be in the here and now and deal with what is.

You're right about the shoe thing too...I can handle being a red stiletto some of the time, but Birkenstock is where I'm really at.

Mint green 1920's pump, huh....? Hmm...let me go ponder that one for a while.....

Uhm....

Uhhh....

*coughs*

*ponders*

I'd uhm.... be uhhhhh... a .... uhm.... pair of Unlisted's? (it's an actual shoe! )

They are comfy, and easy to put on!!! Take that how you may...

Choosing a shoe, I'd like to be a Chuck.... (Converse All-Stars for those not in the know)... Even though it's kinda easy to think of some downsides to the chuck... they are a reliable pair of shoes... even when they have 20 holes, they will still work well on your feet ... Take that how you may also... lol

I'd definately be a pair of Chucks (my wife gave me a pair of plaid Chucks for Christmas - I love 'em) or suede Converse One-Stars. I've always had a couple of pairs of Connys (as we call 'em here in Australia) in my wardrobe since I was old enough to buy my own shoes. As for what shoes I'd like to be, well, I guess probably a pair of ox-blood 12 hole Doc Martins.

Hmmmm,

I guess I have to be a pair of hand made Smooth ostrich cowboy boots...

Comfortable, tough and reliable but add a little polish and they turn into the guys version of dharma's red stilettos! ( in my neck of the woods anyhow....)

Ahem...I feel that you both ought to know that I'm a total sucker for a man in a pair of Chucks.  There, I said it, and now you both know.  I don't know why.

I can see that......

Me, I would have said a good pair of Nike Air Max 3/4 top athletic shoes. But I went and took the test Trina mentioned and here is what I got:

Plain old cup o' joe and headlines go well with your morning muffin when you're like a Dress Oxford. You shine in just about any setting—business or casual—and people trust you like a hearty handshake. Whether transitioning from power lunches to happy hours, people expect to see the likes of you at both. You're often thought of as steady and dependable, but that doesn't mean you're infallible. Still when it comes time to mending social fences or conceding minor setbacks at work or at home, you at least try to tie up the ends of your life instead of leaving them dangling. As for how people view you, suffice it to say, there are plenty of folks who wish they could walk in your shoes—if only for a day.

Yeah, I can see that.

with no match...just one old brown shoe

I would say that I am a "Jerry Garcia" Birkenstock 3 strap.  (I have had my real pair re-soled 2 times).  I would say that because they are artistic, practical, comfy and a bit Earthy.  I would like to be a Birkenstock Annapolis:

Still the same bit of Earthy comfort on the inside, but a bit flashier on the outside.

I'm a pair of beat up 150 eyelet Doc Martins. Hammered, but still able to do a lot of damage...

I would be a pair of Madeline pumps. Open-toed (for comfort), black leather (lasts long and goes with anything), 2 1/2 inch heel. Stylish yet comfortable. Takes you anywhere, until you get tired of wearing them and take them off in relief!

There must be an indie-chick in you just dying to get out. I think this would explain why you love men in Chucks. And I aint complaining...

I live in sandals and flip-flops most of the year round.  I'll wear my Earth Shoes with socks when it gets cool, and it;s only when it gets wet or I'm in danger of frostbite that I'll go for something with a closed toe.

There is, and I'm in the process of letting her out.  I have been for a few years.....that'd explain why I got all the tatts and the piercings and got all "weird" (other people's words, not mine).  Actually, you reminded me of how much I liked Converse and how long it's been since I owned some...so I'm officially searching for the ideal pair now.

And I aint complaining...

Cool...neither am I!

I saw in I,Robot that Will Smith had a pair of limited edition black leather All Stars. Now there is something to get me drooling... I'm trying to find a distributor here in Australia but if I can't, I'm prepared to pay to have them imported. Good luck with your search.

eBay!  That's where I am right now.....and I just placed a bid on a brand new pair of pink (if you can believe that) All Stars.  Very, very yummy.

Have you tried the Converse website yet?  All kinds of groovy stuff on there....

Dharma, sorry it has taken so long to reply. The time zone differences can be a pain.

Thanks for the information. I got a copy of the Rolling Stone Yearbook yesterday afternoon and lo, and behold, there is a full page ad for new release Converse leather All Stars and One Stars, including all the Australian distributors. I'm going to call one of them today and find out if there are any local stores I can order a pair through.

As for the pink All Stars, I can believe it. I have recently seen Misfits (punk legends, in case you don't know) sneakers in black with pink skulls all over them and a pink pair with black skulls all over them. Very cool and, to quote you, yummy. Apparently, in punk circles, pink is the 'new' red, although I find all this 'old' vs. 'new' stuff a bit tedious. Red is red and pink is pink as far as I'm concerned.

Wow, I've just had a quick look at the Converse website. I'm ordering a pair of the black with red trim high tops for sure. Thanks heaps.

Cheers,

Maso
