The recent earthquake off the island of Sumatra is the most powerful earthquake in 100 years. This earthquake is already recognized as one of the greatest natural disasters in recorded history. Most people assume that disasters of this magnitude strike only every 50 years. That may have been true in the past. But we have definitely entered a different time--THE END TIMES.
This recent enormous earthquake is not a once in every 50 years occurrence! It is only among the very first of an entire series of natural disasters which are destined to shake the entire world in a manner never seen before!
Jesus said there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, THE SEA AND WAVES ROARING; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. We are surely in that time. Many more earthquakes--some accompanied by powerful tsunami waves--will strike this earth within the next 10 years or so.
The widespread destruction caused a few months ago by a whole series of hurricanes pounding their way through Florida and much of the southeastern United States was only the beginning. We are now just beginning to experience the direct intervention of an angry and vengeful God.
