Check out this demo of Avalon and XAML working together. Avalon in a technology that will be in the next version of Windows but will also be back ported to Windows XP. It let's users create all kinds of visually enticing interfaces using scripts and able to access 3D graphics hardware.

DesktopX will eventually make use of XAML & Avalon under the covers to make doing this stuff even easier.

I can't wait to see what kind of cool things DesktopX will be able to do! Judging by that demo, some pretty cool things! Thanks for the link Froggy.

Now that's technology with graphics! If DesktopX can utilize Avalon in that easy way, the possibilities with displaying awesome 3d/2d content will almost be endless.

I'm still waiting to see if we'll get an overhauled window rendering system and at least a demo video of its compositing power. I'll take fancy window transitions and effects over 3D-izing widgets any day.

That was an interesting demo, although if the guy said 'you know' once more, I'd have stabbed him in the eye with a pencil.
