Some help with fine tuning of my visuals

HI,

I'm customizing the look of my computer to make it good looking, functional and minimalistic. My desktop interface consists of 5 objeckdock bars: 2 small ones at the bottom for system tray and running tasks, and 3 autohide ones for my applications, games and discs/folders. I've completely removed the windows start bar to keep everything as minimalistic as possible.

As a next step I want to skin my explorer windows and windows menus. I heard that there are several skinning apps that can do this. I also heard that these kinds of applications can make your system unstable or slow, because they have to load at startup, and slways stay loaded. Can anyone tell me something about the effect these kinds of apps have on your system, and could you give some tips on what I should use?? Thanx!

Same thing for my logon screen. I want to skin it without having an application taking up valuable ram space and startup time. Any suggestions?

You need Windowblinds. It has no effect on system speed and is entirely stable. There is no starting time. As for aways being on, mine is currently using 820k of ram. Because of the way Windowblinds paints windows, most find it opens and closes windows faster than the standard Luna skin of XP!

Take a wander through the Windowblinds library, there are styles to suit all tastes.

LogonStudio changes the logon screen and that's all! It doesn't operate at any other time.
