Progress Animations for WB

Where are programs & resources?

Hope "question posts" are OK here.

Can anyone point me to some reference material on how to create progress animations and what programs are needed to do so? I've not had any luck, so far, or am just too stupid to know where to look.

The animations must be 272x60 px in size. Obviously you choose the program to make the animations in, Flash, Photoshop etc., but in the end you have to save it as an compressed MSRLE 8bit avi. A program like Gif Movie Gear is widely used by people here: http://www.gamani.com/
