Font Issues since installing a theme,

All of my windows XP fonts and themes and appearance settings are to DEFAULT. Yet I still have italics on most websites and programs.





On the two attached images you can see italics being used where they shouldn't be in Outlook express (right pane) and another screenshot of this website, where nearly all the text is in italics.

Can anyone shed some light on why these fonts are being displayed as italics and how to revert them to windows defaults?

Sometimes themes change the default fonts which then don't re-set when the theme is unloaded. A reboot might clear it. Have you tried a different theme to see if that changes the fonts back?

there have been many reboots, but I have not yet installed any other themes. In fact I uninstalled all of the software to ensure it wasn't causing any conflicts. Are you suggesting that a possible solution is re-installing the theme software?

Re-install the theme software and try a few themes. Better yet try a few different WindowBlind Skins as this is what I beleive changed your default fonts is a WB skin within one of your themes.

Ok I tried reinstalling desktopx and trying all the different themes. That didn't work.

You suggest using windowblind skins, will that make a difference even though thats not what I used the first time?

Perhaps it might be useful to explain more fully what you think you did do to change the font display - particularly which Desktop X theme together with which version of the program.

I figured you were talking about ThemeManager and Winstyle Themes. I can't see how a DX theme could change the default font in other proggies, where I could see the possibility with windowblinds since changing fonts is part of what it does, but if you haven't used it....I guess we need more info like The Journeyman said

Just a shot...in Internet Explorer...if you go to Tools=>Internet Options and click on the Fonts button do you get Times New Roman and Courier New? I have a fairly fresh install of XP on my PC and haven't really run any of my Stardock software yet so I am thinking that those fonts are the defaults for Internet Explorer.
