Yes, I'm a klutz.

I hurt myself at work today.

First, I burnt myself.  Not too bad, I just brushed the back of my hand against a hot popcorn machine kettle.

Then, I sprained my ankle.  I was putting boxes of candy away in the warehouse...we had had a delivery and the boxes needed to be taken off the wooden pallette it came on and put up on the shelves.  So, there I was with a 20lb box of Wonka Runts in my hands, and I stepped half-on, half-off the pallette and turned my foot up underneath my leg.

It made a sickening crunchy popping noise, there was a flare of pain...then nothing.  Numbness.  For about 10 mins.  I knew I had sprained it, I've done it before....so I went off and got some ice from the produce department and sat with a bag of ice on the egg that was growing on the side of my foot.  That's when it started to hurt.

Now, it hurts to bear weight (I can, but it hurts)...but it hurts more to move my foot up and down and curl my toes.  I've iced it, I've elevated it, I've taken some Bextra.  The knot on the side of my foot is still visible, and it's starting to bruise. There's really not much else I can do for it...except be more careful on it.

I'm having a klutzy day today.  It happens pretty regularly.  I don't understand why I have days like this.  I'm usually not this clumsy.....

I used to burn myself all the time when I worked at the pizza shop, it just happened when around that much heat, there is only so much you can do about it. I do hope your ankle heal quickly, that doesn't sound good at all.

Well, I burnt myself again preparing supper, so I have been banished from the kitchen.

I'm going to soak my ankle (and the rest of me) in the tub in a little bit, hopefully that'll help.  The last time I sprained it, I had a cast for 4 weeks.  I don't particularly want to do that again, especially not in the middle of winter....

I thought the oompa-loompas did the heavy lifting.

Hope your ankle feels better soon.

Yeah, I know...I thought it was funny too.

No, they had the day off today.  It was the elve's turn...and seeing as how I wore a elf hat (complete with point ears) to work today and I'm short...I kinda got mistaken for one.

Well, I went to see my doctor today, and it's not broken.  I do however, have a 2nd degree sprain, which means I've torn a couple of ligaments.  I have to wear a silly ankle 'boot' brace and use my cane to walk with for a couple of weeks, then I have to go and do physical therapy to try and make sure this doesn't happen again.

Still, it could be worse.
