When is it to early for beer?

I got off work, I got home, checked my blog sites, checked my email, and I had a beer. Without thinking I took a beer rom the fridge and just drank it down. I'm kinda worried cause I never drank in the middle of the day before. To boot, I've been drinking all week actually, during a work week I might add. During a work week for christ sakes!!!! Know that I think about it, I am really worried about falling of the wagon again. I probably better watch myself. But the only question that runs through my head at this point is, "Is it to early for beer? If it isn't, then when is it to early?" \

I always heard that if you crack open a cold one for breakfast, then your an alcoholic. I'm not sure about that, but I no that it's never to late. But when is to early? I don't know. I think I may be overreacting. I mean it's the weekend. It's not like I drink at work or before work, just after. Still, I should watch myself and kinda tone it down a little.

If you drink within three hours of waking up...You might be an alkie

If you never have a hangover because you take another swig in the morning...you are an alcoholic.

Depends on how many times you have to be woken up by poking...or if, more than 4 times a week, you open your eyes and the first thing you see are drapes...

Well, I guess know it doesn't matter cause it's eight o'clock and I think it's a perfect time to drink anything.

hi, the technical definition of too much alcohol is such - more than 2 standard drinks per day and more than 5 days per week. therefore you "should" only have 2 standard drinks 5 days a week with 2 days off per week. now having all 10 drinks in one go is "not allowed" as this is binge drinking.
i've been in a very bad place with alcohol - way beyond what you are writing about. if you don't think you can get through the week or more so the day without your beer then perhaps you need to think about what you are consuming and why and maybe get some help.
needless to say lots of people drink more than the recommended amount without being considered or treated as an alcoholic. but in older cultures it was treated with respect and saved for "special ceremonies" like peace pipes and the like and with a (particularly western) culture which glamourises and encourages drinking it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking drinking lots or early is ok. the above volumes are what are considered to be the amount which is safe to drink before damaging your body. alcohol is far more damaging to your looks than other aging behaviours as it dehydrates your cells.
oh and i was working - at a very high skill level (years of experience had me on autopilot despite the fog) - but only drank after work into unconsciousness with the alarm waking me in time for work. my hubby didn't leave despite my best efforts at self-destruction (and obviously soul destruction for him) and one day i just said enough... now i know i can't drink - i have a baby and she means more to me than any amount of alcohol could... good luck and i hope you are in control.

Set yourself some "ground rules" and adhere to them with a religious ferver! I NEVER drink before 5 p.m. I NEVER, EVER even remotely consider the idea of driving. I NEVER leave my house or shop (which is behind my house) and NEVER,NEVER get one the telephone!! It's a good idea not to send e-mails either! But the main thing is STAY RESPONSIBLE!!!!!! and keep in mind your actions. I've never strayed from beer and have "binge drinked" on a fairly regular basis (Oh yeah, don't do it less than once a week!) for years without the remotest of problems. Now I know a thing or two about abusive drinking, I've worked in a jail for 11 years and have seen what drinking without any "ground rules" can do. Just be your self and enjoy, but know what's out of bounds.

When I was on vacation a few months ago, I set myself a rule when I went to the club with my friends. One was to not drive. Two was to have only a couple of drinks and if I started to fell a "buzz", stop. I set the same rules this weekend when I was with my family. One was to not drive and two was to only drink as much as I could handle. If I started to feel any discomfort, stop. I have lost control before. NOT FUN, NOT FUN AT ALL!!!!! So I try to remember that and go from there.
