Are we getting there?

Are we getting there?

Faster..Faster..FASTER!

Okay guys, after two marathon days of coding, the IT team and myself have been working on getting the speed on WinCustomize to be better. Is it feeling better yet? Does the site feel peppier?

"It's getting better all the time...with a little help from my friends"
- To coin a phrase from the Beatles.

Marked improvement over the last 48 hours, nice job so far, people!!!

I am looking forward to uploading at least a screenshot this weekend to test the upstream capabilities.

Can't wait till the whole thing is solid.

Very good to hear.

We're not done with speed improvements, not by a long shot. But the site was unusably slow before. Now we can focus for a few days fixing bugs and making some usability changes for going back and tackling more speed improvements.

Also, like Gef, I have had problems uploading to the site so that's going to be the next thing.

When I click on "quote" on any comment, the textbox only says [ quote][ /quote] (without the spaces), but does not include the text of the comment I want to quote.

I believe you would need to select/copy the text you want to quote, then paste it between the quote tags...at least that's what I did here.

also, wanted to thank Frogboy, T-man, and the rest of the team for a great job on the new site. I definitely noticed a major difference in page loading today!!

At one stage I had a page load of 2 minutes 5 ....since then the same load was 5 seconds....that's a 25-fold improvement. Typically overall I'd say the speed is up about 5x. As other bugs are squashed...and features added 2K5 will just get better and better. It's almost like Christmas, really .....

Jafo has gotta work out how to get the html access in comments in Firefox .... Spell checker Page breaks, etc.

I just realized that if you select the text first and then hit quote it puts that text in between.
Wouldn't it be better if it default to the entire text if no text is selected. Not very easy to guess the system...

I like the change! The site is indeed more responsive. however, can you please sharpen the pictures of the skins on the windowblinds site if possible. They are not as clear as the previous site made them. Otherwise, nice stuff!

echo they are aware of the image size probs in the previews and will get to it when they can ...

Well, tried to upload a Wallpaper submission and got the old "Cannot load page ... server not found".

Drats, hope that one gets a fix. Tried from both IE and WC Browser to no avail.

If anyone has any helpful hints, I would appreciate it.
