The Meaning of life

Ok everyone?

yeah I just want to know everyone's opinion on The meaning of life, and if they have answers for it. I've been told by many that the meaning of life is to die. To me that's not the answer, death is the climax, but what is the MEANING of life? i think it is to 'experience' and to live fully and explore everything you possibly can before the consclusion falls from God himself.... or whatever.

....?

Well, depends if you're talking in the biological sense or in the theological sense.

Biologically, Nature has it all figured out: the meaning of life is to reproduce and therefore ensure survival of the species. Look at the animal life: usually, in nature, the shorter the life of an animal, the more offsprings it will have at a time: Long lived animals usually have only one baby, while shorter lived animals have many more.  Another consideration is the chances of survival of the newly born. In some animals, only 1% of the newborn survive, and those animals often give birth to hundreds (ex: some sea turtles).

From this perspective, the meaning of life is therefore to bring new life.

We as humans are part of a natural system and that system will eventually change with or without us. The meaning of life is an invalid question in my mind. A better question is , What is the meaning of nature? Nature is bigger than life. well something like that anyways.

The meaning is life is what ever it means to "you." If you listen to or follow anyone elses meaning you not following your own path. The truth is, there can be infinite meanings to life, pick one, pick several, but most of all try to enjoy the journey. If you waste time looking for the meanings you will have missed the journey. On another note, why must there be a meaning to it? Life is...enjoy the ride!

Oh, and if you ask me, life has no meaning. The idea that there must be a reason for everything is a human concept. I, for instance, never heard my dog ask me questions like that.

Life is just a game we all play, the question is whether or not you'll choose to lose

Choose to lose?

I didn't know one made the choice of winning or losing.
Actually we all lose in the end. :/

yeah come on all you lil athiest who think there is no meaning to life are the first ones in these threads looking for that answer... hehe!

anyways my opinion on this is: I'm still upset about that apple incident, and I don't know how God can expect us to do good on earth when we are not God we're human. Very nice of him to give us choices but to stick us here where the odds are against our favor is cruel.
(Yes I am one of those nuts that believes in God and at the same time realizes if that is true I'm going to Hell)

And I don't know about your opinion about death being a climax cuz it does not look like one when someone is dying.
The apple incident was ofcourse womenhood blaming everything on that poor little snake.

Don't worry so much about the meaning of life. Instead, make sure that in the end, your life has meaning.

hehe dutchy
noooo I don't really blame that sneaky snake I'm actually pissed off at Eve (suffering labor pains to have kids hurts!) and it's apparently all her fault over an apple? could not she have blown it for something alillll more enticing maybe I would not have minded but an apple???
I could have easily told that snake no way! (I hate apples)

I don't think the meaning of life can be explained in words: it is more of a feeling, an innate knowledge, or some divine inspiration.

First of all, when Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, if you read Genesis, you'll see that to have been created in God's image they would have had to be in spiritual form. It wasn't until they were cast out of the Garden that humans became physical beings. Secondly, it wasn't the fruit itself that was the temptation. It was the knowledge she was promised by the snake. It was the idea that she could be as great as God by knowing what he knew.

The reason this is such a bad place to be, I think, is because we choose to use that knowledge, and our free will, for the wrong purposes. God is constantly testing us. Why should we go to Heaven and be with God if we cannot prove we are worthy of it? If we aren't strong enough to resist corruption, are we worthy?

Well, I think so, as long as we make the right decision in the end. I mean, hey, look at the guy crucified next to Jesus, right?

Now:
(Yes I am one of those nuts that believes in God and at the same time realizes if that is true I'm going to Hell)

um... yeah... that probably about sums it up for me too. hehe

And, back to the original topic of this thread.... what meaning? there is no meaning. what would be the point of everything if there was an actual meaning? ok.... life means the same thing for everyone....BORING! that would truly suck!

I think a better Question would be "What does your life mean to you?"

Oh, wait, webgizmo already said that. hmmmmm

I'll have to think some more.

btw I agree w/ kongit up there, the meaning of life is not something easily put into words at all...

If God was to come to anyone of us face to face most of us stilllll would not believe him. (Look what happened to Jesus)
