Downloaded WindowsBlinds 4.4 - but after installation it's still 4.3

I'm a registered user since many months and today I wanted to upgrade from 4.3 to 4.4.
On the Download-Page I went to the "EnhancedUsers" Area and prompted my E-Mail Adress. The new links to Version 4.4 were send to me sucessfully. But when I finished downloading and installing I looked at the point in the "About WindowsBlinds" Section and there is still ver. 4.3 listet. Same when I look at the properties and version of wbload.exe with my filemanager.
Is there any solution for this problem. I even tried to uninstall the Prog. completely and rebooted my PC several times. But nothing worked.

When you install do you set wb to the default XP style before reinstlling? In other words did you shut down WB? Reboot in between uninstalling and reinstalling.
HAve you tried to download using Stardock central?

Sure I have unloaded before. And I also have rebooted between uninstall and install. But I'm running Win ME. Does this matter?

On WinXP, mine says 4.4, so could be.
