Currently it's a bit like.....I buy a car to drive....but if I want to let my wife drive it I've gotta buy her her own one, instead....

Yes Jafo I understand that situation, except I have seen clones' walking around my friends Shhh.

Well I was fortunate enough to be able to aquire' the latest Photo Shop...However, I wont have it untill later tomorrow..... So as I am not sure what version it will be... I am also so fortunate as to have access to many programs for free.... 'Legally' ofcourse.

I am so looking forward to getting out of class and having my buisness license....

Yup, I just recieved Photo Shop CS and also Go Live. Which is a great WYSIWYG. Im sure Jafo knows what I mean. I would of got Dreamweaver but it has a harder learning Curve.

Also I discovered today something useful. All of you who have windows and hand code all ur web pages can download "Notepad 2" and it allows you to use colors and a few other features to keep that coding clean and readable.

Also I got a 100 on my cisco exam today.

Im sry, I meant to ask if anyone knows an easy way to convert MP3 files to WMA files?
hmmm, I thought that if anything would do that the WMP would sadly, no. There are other converters out there. Just do a google. Lots of free ones too, I imagine.

CSurfside, for the HTML question, you just type ../ (dot dot slash) to go back one folder.
Ex: if you are in www.mysite.com/page/intro/index.html, typing ../newpage.html will bring you to www.mysite.com/page/newpage.html.  You can also go backwards then forward to another folder like this: ../poducts/myproduct.html will bring you to www.mysite.com/pages/products/myproduct.html.

Oh and about a onverter, install dbPower AMP Music Converter (dMC). It converts just about anything into anything. It's free, and it integrates convientely into your right-click options. A must have.  http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm

Sweet..! Thanx for the posts...

These two issues were kicking my behind..

Your ONLY transparency solution for web pages are GIFs, but then you're limited to 256 colors in your image, and only 1 color of transparency. In other words, the edges will be jagged, unless you anti-alias it with the same color as your web page background color

Paxx-
My web page background is balck.
So would I have to use a black background layer for my image when I use the anti-alias to draw something. Then delete the background layer before I save to get the smooth look on my web page. would that be the correct way to do what you explained?

What image software are you using? Photoshop or PSP? I don't use PSP so somebody else would have to explain it, but in Photoshop, first, make sure your background is empty (transparent), then select "save for Web". Select GIF for the image type, make sure "transparency" is checked, and select a black color for the "Matte" setting.  To make the file size smaller, play with the number of colors and use lots of dithering. Depends what your image is, if it's a lot of the same color, then you can often get away with using only 32 colors, if it's just text often 8 colors is fine, but if it's a picture, sometimes it's hard to get something nice under 256 colors, and even then it often loors crappy.  For pictures, JPGs is more the way to go with no real transparency but faking it with putting a backaground color in your image the same color as your web page.  See screenshot below for GIF settings.  Note that in the preview it looks ugly but when placed on a black background it will look just great.

Thanx Paxx-

I have PSP 8 and I also have Photshop. I hav'nt done much with Photoshop being as I have had PSP 8 longer. I am in class now, but when I get home I will try what you have posted above.

One more thing. I have The latest version of Photoshop, I believe it's the CS version. Im guessing that it should be similar to what you are using.

Also, when I am in PSP 8 I always have to run the optimizer under "save as" then ok the settings, even if the settings are already checked just to get the transparency effect on my images. Should'nt the settings automatically apply everytime I "save as."
I realize you dont have PSP 8. However, any solution for this small hurtle would be helpful.

I suppose I need to ditch the PSP 8 program and get more proficient with Photoshop.

Some people use and love PSP, it's probably not a bad program at all, it's just that I know nothing about it so I really can't help you about any setting.

Paxx.....

You nailed it on the head. I did what you expressed from post #313....And my problems are solved.

Like I said before, I have PSP8 and Photoshop CS, I hav'nt used Photoshop as much as PSP8 but I can already tell I like it better. Photoshop seems to have a little harder learning curve, but I am discovering tons of advantages in Phtotoshop that PSP8 does'nt incorporate in their product. I believe I am sticking to Photoshop CS for now on.

Ok new topic....

I recently recieved Spy Sweeper, Highjack This, and Pest Patrol. I installed them on my friends computer to see what the results would be. I noticed that HighJack This did'nt really install but more or less just ran and detected lots of proggies that normally would'nt be detected.. Obviously I did'nt delete anything.

I am wondering if anyone knows anything about these programs, or could provide me with any information that could help me determine rather these are programs that I might want to install on my computer!

Jafo-
I know you use spyware removers, and in the past you have provided me with valuable info. I really would like any information that anyone can provide me about these proggies........!

I will let my thread fade away along with Doodle Bug's soul...RIP DoOdle Bug.@
