Bootskins....The color ain't showing right?

I have had this problem forever.I download any type of bootskin run it then you reboot then the new boot logo is there but the colors look like crap really really bad its sometimes distored and the amount of colors even if it is just one color themed it still looks like shit.Somone help but I like bootskin so much ill probley just deal with it if you guys cant figure out what I am talking about...

What bootskins have you tried so far? Are you comparing the bootskin you end up with to the one you saw in the preview? Some authors do not show the bootskin as it actually looks. Bootskins can only have a certain number of colors and therefore will not look at all like the preview if the author did not show the actual bootskin.

I have alot of bootskins and they all look crappy and distored here are a few that I can think of:
fbi white author: CA
Fields Author: Apocalypse_67
Led zeppelin xp eddition auther: ben jay
They just look like crap....

Ok, something different is going on here, Apocalypse_67 always shows his bootskins as are. I am not sure myself what the problem is. I will seek some help for you on this matter.

The previews are 640x480. If you are looking at the preview in any resolution other than 640x480....say like 1024x768 on a 17-inch CRT, the the preview will look much better than the bootskin which is displayed at the 640x480 resolution All bootskins only use 16 colors.

TheOneZer0....try to keep a handle on the language while voicing your 'frustrations' with the proggy.

Bootskins are limited to a default VGA driver with a max 4-bit [16 colour] palette....so it's probable that you are seeing the common 'grainy' effect which unfortunately is NOT always represented in some of the skins' previews....something I am particularly NOT in favour of....
