can't uninstall windowsblinds

Go into Display Properties/Appearance and change it to XP Style....you should have done that before you un-installed WB. You now may have to re-install WB, set to XP Style in DP and then un-install WB.

i reinstalled WB, tried to set it to XP style, but apparently that doesn''t exist anymore. i set it to winxp style, but it replies that it couldn''t be applied in a timely manner, and defaults back to windows classic.

Did you have any other shell proggies installed before you installed WB?

no, not sure what those may be. i installed object dock before WB though.

No...Object Dock wouldn''t be doing anything. The proggies I''m asking about are apps like StyleXP and others that hack your XP kernel file. I''m not quite sure what you''re looking at in Control Panel after you un-install WB, but that skin your looking for should be here:C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Luna...is it there?

Gary I refuse to get in the middle but I just want to ask the obvius question that has been missed so far.
Just how are you going about uninstalling WB? Are you using add / remove programs or stardock central?
Wondering what you see in the control panel also.

1. i uninstalled using add/remove programs.
2. stardock cleanup, which is linked above.

is there anything else?

you asked how i installed object dock - i downloaded the program, double clicked it, and installed. is there some additional installation method?

i just found out about stardock central - no, i didn''t use it.

i tried to restore my machine to an earlier date - but that didn''t help. now i''m starting to get conflicts w/ object dock, so i can''t even show my windows taskbar anymore (it had the autohide feature set on the taskbar, and since everytime i try to start objectdock it fails, i can''t access the taskbar at all.) what is going on?!

there was no Luna Visual Styles file. in the luna folder, there is a luna.msstyles file, but when i click that, i get the following error: "The visual styles could not be applied. The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

I would highly suggest that you email support at stardock.com as is this is not a support site for stardock products. You will probably be helped faster if you go that route. Hope it helps.

Re-read #7 - did you install StyleXP or some other hack program to change your Visual before installing Window Blinds??

Well, then I''m at a loss as to where Luna Visual File went and the Luna msstyles file came from. Download and install this http://storage.stardock.com/files/sdcentral_current.exe and let it auto-update (it will prompt you). Use it to un-install both Window Blinds and Object Dock. The only way you can now get the Luna Visual File back is to boot to the XP CD and do a repair or re-install Window Blinds using SDC (the proggie you just installed) and applying one of the skins in that. You can also re-install Object Dock in the same manner. I only have one question before you do any of this....what version of WB is this? (trial, sharware or full version)
